A lot of the people in Japan don't even know about some of the characters. (Kratos, Drake, Big Daddy) are all big in the western market but I highly doubt Japan is interested in Bald men or white guys sporting a beard.

If some FF chars were in there however....(Or some anime girls).

I doubt PSASBR could do all that great anywhere really. It's a new IP and many people seem to know close to nothing about it.

Sony needs go get SquareEnix to let in FF. Why aren't they in there in the 1st place?

GoW 3 did 400k in japan, GoW might be bigger there than we think

Personally, I think Japan already has the all handheld fighters it needs (Streetfighter? and a couple more I'm sure).

People would be more inclined to buy the console version if any.

It's hard to see why it would sell well in Japan if it didn't in the US. Almost all of the franchises represented are bigger in the West.

They do not, however, particularly love western-developed games.  They're beginning to come around to the idea, but still.

Yes, it will sell poorly in Japan.  Aside from a few people who pick it up for Spike, Toro, Heihachi or Raiden.  Maybe when the Kat DLC comes that might spur a few extra Vita version sales too.

Otherwise, don't expect much.
