Forums - Nintendo - Why Nintendo will always be around.

That about the generational thing, don't count on it. Most kids today grew up with Western games on HD consoles, go ask any 15 year old kid what he/she plays. Its either a shooter or a sports game like Fifa.

Things change, as Sega's case proved, so nothing is certain.

Most of us play those games now, we didn't back then when we were 13 years old or younger.

Nintendo + Sony should team up.

Nintendo doesn't know what the hell they're doing with consoles.

Sony doesn't know what the hell they're doing with handhelds.

My answer to them is this:
pokemon
they wont be going anywhere as long as they have that

What's interesting isn't that you think Nintendo will be around forever. It's that you seem to think consoles will be around forever.

Just because consoles won't be around forever doesn't mean Nintendo won't.

So tell me again what will kill consoles?  Iphones? PC?  Consoles will be around forever, I mean they have been doomed since the Atari days and yet have had record breaking sales this Gen.  You seem to be forgetting the fact that people love to sit on a couch and play deep engaging console games.  Also, the rest of the developing world is getting more and more disposable income and will start increasing their share of the market which will only make console gaming grow and grow and grow.   What on earth would kill it?

And please for the love of god don't say PCs because we've been having that argument for over 30 years now and the they still haven't killed consoles.  Smartphones on the other hand, can't even kill handhelds properly let alone home conoles.  So please, enlighten me as to you what you know.

Who can tell....the way the markets are any one of the big three could be gone in the next 5 years.

It'd be interesting if Nintendo went to Disney and formed a new console with them.

Nintendo IP + Star Wars IP + Marvel Comics IP + Walt Disney/Pixar IP + maybe a line of ESPN sports games all exclusive to one type of gaming platform ...

Nintendo would always go into some kind of partnership where they would have a large level of control before ever going to route of Sega and grovelling as a common third party throw away.

Nintendo will always be around, and their consoles will be around for as long as there are consoles. But this isn't necessarily for that much longer, as it depends on how quickly streaming gaming takes off. If it all becomes like Netflix, then consoles will begin to die out.

Of course, they can combat this through innovative peripherals. In the long term, I can see Nintendo going completely first party and peripherals, but not until everyone else has left the console business.

PSN: Osc89

NNID: Oscar89

I can only image the day consoles won't be around.

All the old consoles will skyrocket in price as RETRO stuff haha.

Actually makes sense! They'd ass rape MS so badly though... But I would love every second of it! Just imagine both of their first party games on the same console

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.
