Looks like you still need proper rules for your tournament. I see that you currently plan to put all 1st and 4th ranked players into the same round 2 bracket, but that basically equals giving the 1st ranked players a free pass to the final due to quite a big discrepancy in skill compared to the 4th ranked players.

The rules for a tournament with four brackets

The one rule above all is that everyone has to be honest and honorable. Don't enter a room you are not supposed to. There are seven rooms prepared for this tournament and you will have to move to another room in each round. The entire tournament should last somewhere between 60-70 minutes, depending on how smooth the transitions between rounds go.

The hosts: Each of the four initial brackets (1, 2, 3, 4) has a host who will start the Grand Prix (standard rules, four races) in time and post the results in this thread afterwards to let everyone know how it ended. In case none of these four hosts will be present in one or both rooms in round 2, it would be much appreciated, if someone else takes over these duties voluntary. The same goes for round 3.

Who goes to the next round? In each round the top 4 of any given room will progress to the next round. Note that in case of a tie in points between two or more players, the game will most likely rank the player who attained the better result in the fourth race higher. While this isn't guaranteed, you better be prepared that the fourth race will have more weight than the others.

Round 1: It will start at 7:00 p.m. EST. Since Mario Kart 7 has an annoying autostart feature, it is recommended that you do not enter your room until two minutes before the start of the GP. Here is the breakdown for who has to enter which room in round 2.

*Note to tbone51: Only copy-paste the method you are going to use in your tournament.*

Bracket 5: top 4 of bracket 1 and top 4 of bracket 2.
Bracket 6: top 4 of bracket 3 and top 4 of bracket 4.

*Note to tbone51: The advantage of this method is that it is uncomplicated. The disadvantage is that people race against many of the same players they already raced against in round 1.*

The second method is what I like to call "the cross".

Bracket 5:

1. Bracket 1, #1
2. Bracket 1, #4
3. Bracket 2, #2
4. Bracket 2, #3
5. Bracket 3, #2
6. Bracket 3, #3
7. Bracket 4, #1
8. Bracket 4, #4

Bracket 6:

1. Bracket 1, #2
2. Bracket 1, #3
3. Bracket 2, #1
4. Bracket 2, #4
5. Bracket 3, #1
6. Bracket 3, #4
7. Bracket 4, #2
8. Bracket 4, #3

Round 2: It will start at 7:25 p.m. EST, provided all eight players are present in a room. If that isn't the case, then the host will delay the start of the GP.

The top 4 of bracket 5 and 6 will proceed to the final in bracket 7.

Round 3: It will start at 7:45 p.m. EST, provided all eight players are present in the room. If that isn't the case, then the host will delay the start of the GP.

Sounds about right, also too note just in case one bracket has 4 racers (due to tardy or absence) then one will be elimated so top 3 instead (its only fair)

I edited my post, so take another look.

Should it happen that one bracket has only four racers, then we won't penalize the 4th ranked player for the forgetfulness of others. It's only fair.

i guess not... Anyway i'll post that info in the op now! It might be best to do cross!

You need to work on the OP. It's anything but clear who has to join which room in round 2 in your current OP. If you can't copy-paste my table, at least put the two lists in there.

EDIT: Oh, now I recognized that the arrows match the brackets listed below. You changed it from a cross to something else.

damn i need to let everybody kno, some people dont check, thats why i send messages! Thats a long list though! Anyway is the op good?
