Nintendo Power should be free. I mean it's basically an overglorfied product catalogue.

Of course that's how i feel about most magazines. But i mean the company sponsored ones. You think they'd want to send them out to everyone who had the systems just to sell them the games.

Most subscriptions are roughly that price, maybe a couple dollars more. 80% of the off-the-shelf cost comes from them having to pay to ship the magazine and from the store having to make a profit.
