I know, I was just saying that for multiplatform games, both use either P2P or dedicated servers, so latency will always be the same.

I grew up on Socom 2 playing Swedish and Finnish clans so I'm well adjusted to lag anyway, so everything nowadays probably feels stupidly smooth :P. |
On Gears 2 a lot of cheaters used to use lag switches to force host selection in their favour. I've never been a fan of matchmaking on any service as being a PC gamer predominantly in the past I like being able to choose my server. P2P hosting is crap but its all they'll let us have bar on the odd exception.
Live has the smoother online gameplay , cuz microsoft put alot of effort in it thats why its not free.
IMSM
Probably not much of a difference, Xbox has party chat and smoother social aspects but that's about it.
At one time i have used both. i never had any real trouble. i only used live for about a year. why pay 50 dollars when i can play for free on PSN i just like PSN better
VITA 32 GIG CARD.250 GIG SLIM & 160 GIG PHAT PS3
The only major latency issues that I've encountered with either service were Gears of War 2 and LittleBigPlanet. I have to say that the two services are comparable.
since most games use p2p servers i'd think the right answer would be that generally its reliant on the users connection
however, to my knowledge sony runs more dedicated servers for exclusives than microsoft
