I'm sorry form another thread about the ps3 but i felt that there was some information missing about ps3 pricing. When sony formed the BDA (Blu-ray disk association) they wanted to make sure they had most of the major CE companies backing them with their Blu-ray format and i belive that when they decided to put BD in the PS3 sony had to form an agreement with all the CE companies that they would not reduce the price below any other BD players. They did this so all the CE companies would stay on board and they also did this because they did not want prices to fall like they did with DVD players. Also this is the reason why you did not see many HD DVD players that were not Toshiba brand because Toshiba didnt have many companies working with them due to such low priced players. So anyone thinking sony is going to drop the ps3 price to 300 bucks i highly doubt itll drop that low but i can see a price cut of like 50 bucks so it would be something like 349.99$ and 449.99$ but nothing below that because the lowest priced BD player coming out soon will be 350 bucks approx.
Please note that much of this info might not be correct and that this is just something that i have come up with after reading rumors that the ps3 is tied up to bd player pricing and this is just my 2 cents.
also plz forgive for bad grammar lol.
Also forgot to mention about 360.
This is why i think MS decided not to include any HD drives into the 360 so they would not have to be tied to other companies.
