With a subscription I guess not, but the console will need to do a lot more things that just gaming and online in order to gather non-gamers into the subscription.

The Vita has a "nice" price, the problem is those stupid memory card prices that don't help at all, and there are not many games to choice from (at least imo) but that's a different argument. Sony must have learned from their mistakes, if they don't, it will probably cost them even more millions (which they can't really throw away at the moment). 

Unless its only 1.5-2x  the power of the wii U,  I'd say 399 is likely to turn a decent loss as opposed to profit.

I think its the games+ the memory cards that caused the Vita's problems. Also Sony must be intelligent with their pricing, both from a perspective of unit sales and profit so people can't assume cheaper= more success. The gamecube was significantly cheaper then the ps2 but it still flopped haha. My bet would be $499 and possibly a subscription model for $199

Needs an SSD, and plenty of RAM, then build the rest around that. Would like it to be profitable at day one.

Hard to say, one must weight the benefit of power and specs against a possible net loss and high starting price. We can all be certain it won't be 600$ though...

I think I'll have to go with 450$, braking barely even in the beginning, there will likely be a premium edition of sorts that might cost 500$, knowing Sony's usual game and seeing the 360 Core and the Wii U basic bundles struggle and annoy developers and consumers alike, I find it unlikely they'll offer a technically impaired version for the sake of slashing 50$ off of the price.

450$ it is then, a tad high for my tastes, I never buy consoles for more than 2500NOK (which will often reflect a 250$ price tag in NA, in other words; I won't be buying a new console for some time yet).

Probably 449 and/or 499... but in my country it will be like 1000 or more when it launches, lol.
