They must own a new market, because Nintendo owns the same amount of the handheld market as ever.

How, what's your proof, didn't they just past 25 million total recently.

Yup. It hit the 25 million mark exactly 94 weeks after it launched in its first region.

You know how long it took the DS to reach 25 million sales after its launch in its first region?

94 weeks.

Well it would at least warrant a thread with this level of zealousness. A word game with achievements, and Kinectimals without achievements (which is of course a misnomer given you're not using Kinect if playing on iOS) doesn't an XBox handheld make. Iconic MSFT console exclusive franchises on iOS makes for a (virtual) Xbox handheld.

Maybe its just me, but the real winner is Apple. They are getting support from almost everyone now. They own the handheld market.

They allways had, they allways will.

Windows Tablets will steal its marketshare but on Phones even if Android sells better, Iphone ecosystem is way to big and has way more people conected. Most people with Android only use it for Call and Text, nothing else.

Making things up is not cool. I own android, all I do is play with apps, and games have been coming mostly free. And, serious stealing 5% percent market share with the amount of advertising I have seen from Microsoft is just terrible.

Doesnt matter, they will steal alot of markershare in tablets, they wont surprass Apple soon but with time they will as more options became available and such. Yet is difficult to Apple to have the biggest marketshare since they only sale their iOS with their products, i think its a great stategy, it doesnt matter if you have less marketshare when you do more money than others. Microsoft has the same philosophy now, they are still growing but profits are more important to them. See Xbox they could have drop the price and already killed Ps3 yet they dont want to cut the price and still selling it and absurd amount of money for a 7year old Console.

its business and nobody beats Microsoft and Apple at this. Windows 8 will be massive for everything from Phones to Tablets, they can outsell Apple products but Apple is still making more money. Microsoft and Apple are the 2 developers i see making more money around with profits from 6-9 bilion every Quarter. Insane.

it isnt terrible, it is a start, Apple didnt start selling 25m Iphones per quarter, neither would Windows Phone or Windows Tablets, it takes time.

Slow Start, now big platform. its business, try to beat Apple or Microsoft at it and you will end up dead, look at Sony, Samsung has crushed them, MS has crushed them, Canyon has crushed them.

Deal with it.

Is it really a good idea to attach the Xbox name to these free time wasters?

Playstation mobile can be downloaded on pretty much any Android device. So, handheldwise, Sony > MS > Nintendo. Sounds reasonable.

P.S.: Playing Lemmings, which is free on PSM right now in europe, on my Nexus 4.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

wouldn't the more logical conclusion be that microsoft is now a third party developer?
