Hello not to confuse anybody third installments are the games followed by the new generation pair such as blue/red into Yellow version or gold/silver into Crystal!

What gave the best performance/most liked/ best delivery in the series?

My two favorite is Emerald and Black2.
BW2 brings a whole new story with added content and doesn't play like its 1st installments. But Emerald has the battle frontier that started and had two main villians in one game! So i Chose Emerald as #1!!!

Hmm... I have only played Pokémon Yellow and Emerald on that list, and Yellow really wasn't that special. All they did was include some features from the anime series (Nurse Joy, Team Rocket, Pikachu as a starter, minor Pokémon design changes, give Charizard and Dragonite the ability to fly, etc.). So I'll say Pokémon Emerald. The newish story was a welcome change.

Call me ol' school but blue/red is my all time favorite series. So I guess yellow edition.
