Bond, James Bond.........OCTOPUSSY!!!

*ahem*

I am finally a smartphone owner. My first one, and what better to get than a new model right? If you didn't know, it's the bond phone from Skyfall. Xperia TL is Sony's latest android phone and most likely its best phone. It's also sexy. Dual core 1.5ghz snapdragon, 13 mp camera, 4G LTE, Bravia engine 720 x 1280 4.55 inch screen. Full spec lay out here http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_xperia_t_lte-5015.php

The sound is great and so is the screen. I am liking Android more than I did iOS on my iPod touch 4 but still need to figure some stuff out. I guess I can buy a dock with an HDMI out to turn it into a media hub, but I won't bother and my PS3 is useful enough. My SEN account lets me access music unlimited and it allows for offline play. "Box" cloud storage app is still offering 50gb of free data for Xperia owners by the end of the year so I jumped on that. With the 16gb internal and the 5gb from google drive I am pretty set on storage, not to mention I can get up to 32gb micro sd for it.

It also uses the Xperia smart tags. NFC chips that can be programmed to autostart apps or change your phones content at a touch. Pretty cool but I haven't had my phone long enough to mess with the possibilities. It does come with one and you can buy 4 more for $20. There is also a Sony headphone that has NFC and will auto bluetooth sync and play music. Unfortunetly my new Pulse headset does not have NFC but the phone still has the standard jack. The micro usb charger seems proprietary or at least uncommon so that sucks. Though the PlayStation 3D glasses type b micro usb cable fits in the phone it isn't the same.

Anyway. It does work with PlayStation Mobile but I was dissapointed it didn't come pre loaded and I had to find it in the browser rather than on Google Play. A minor discomfort that is not in Sony's best interest. Again shared on the SEN account for both my wife and our Vitas/Xperia TLs. The PSM store is identicle to the one on the Vita in all regards except it contains a library where you launch the games from, meaning games won't litter your OS and stay internal to the PSM app. I don't have a bluetooth physical game pad, unless someone knows how I can use a PS3 controller, I assume the Vita control code is functional if I really wanted it.

Does anyone have any Android app recommendations?

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

Have a look through these free apps:

Is that Kingsoft office app a good document editor? I need something like that for .doc and .xls.

What's the best one out there?

I've only just downloaded it so I honestly don't know. It's free and seems to have reviewed well so there's no reason not to give it a go!

Nice choice

I really like the Xperia. My wife got an Xperia U. Amazing phone.

Oh, I'm also rocking a SmartWatch. Anyone doing that? I won it and finally have an android phone to use it. It's alright so far, but aside from not needing to pull a phone out of my pocket its most useful app is the phone finder. I guess the vibrate upon notification is nice too.

Also, it doesn't have a metal back and I'm allergic to nickel. So I'm happy.

Looks a very good phone.
