GAF poster says the app works now... no update required.
I'm not at home to test, but if anyone is with their WiiUs (in NA), can they provide details.

Looks like it works with directtv, dish, comcast (xfinity), cox, and OTA options. Can work with DVR. Saves your favorite sport teams. and loads fairly quick.

Its a server side system. Just like miiverse and the eShop. They are not 'apps' on your WiiU, just small front ends that access info off of some Nintendo server. So we've always had the small front-end, now the servers are turned on.

Maybe the update was done earlier.
In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.
It doesn't recognize DISH network for me damnit, it only showed UVerse, bell, broadcast and c-band providers.

Are you not in US? GAF users said their Dish stuff was recognized.
Cool that it's up I just don't know what I will do with it, I don't watch a ton of TV and don't have a cable box for HD content where my wii u is plugged in. I am interested in seeing what it's like during a sporting event though
edit: and yes I did try it, the setup was simple but the pictures for most of the shows weren't loading, so it just showed blank boxes.
