its not a public beta yet... i have submit a request to be apart and got accepted.
i think the public beta will start 9 January here in EU... don't know about US... but when its starts, you better try this one out... is very worth the download time... march cant get here fast enough.

I usually don't play betas. I just don't have the time, but I'd be interested in giving this a try.

you won't need much time to see how cool it is... but i doubt, you will be able to put down the controller and stop leveling up to unlock new armor (stuff), easily...

I enjoy it. Have some friends who feel the mechanics are bad though. Kinda bums me out :( Screw them!

I HATED it at first but grew to love it. Have a Ares at level 29 and a Zeus at 18.

been playing for just over an hour now.

at first i was leaning towards like a 6/10 (yes a score on a beta, deal with it) xD but it was mostly due to lack of knowledge. right now, id give it like a 7 maybe 8 tops. The gameplay is FUN but it feels a bit sluggish. But im not sure if its because im in Europe and the majority of peeps are US that got the beta (hey i aint missing out).

when the tutorial started and you fought that AI 1v1, oh my god it was amazing. The controls were so responsive and it just oozed greatness.

Yet the online is a bit of a cluster fuck and theres too much thats going on at times and you cant tell whats what. I do feel a somewhat high input lag too, like from when I press and when my character reacts to what I press.

I do really like the customization - unlock stuff, seems really deep. Will also have so that skill does indeed matter but its far easier if you play longer as you unlock more stuff. I personally chose Zeus as god but then noticed that you can apparantly switch whenever so I went with Ares. Zeus was just too weak in confrontations imo... Not sure how that'll work out.

But yeah, a bit dissappointed i gotta be honest :(. Its fun though. 7 being "Good" so ..its all good. I just hope they'll truly listen and tune the game after feedback. I want me some 1v1 mode too.

EDIT: Oh and as cool as this might be, they better really have a stellar SP. Otherwise I can really see this game being raped by the critics.

Okay, played for like 10+ hours now, non stop. Fuck this game is addicting.

Ive completely gotten use to the sluggy controls now, like, you adapt to it :P. Thats not to mention the fact that I am playing once again on US servers and im in europe so there is some latency expected anyhow.

But really:
I fucking love this.
Will bump it up to an 8/10 aka "Great", for a beta.

I have experienced some lag and tons of disconnects due to host etc, but it is like a private first day beta. I recall Uncharted 3's MP being a disaster on the first week too. Its common.

In general, the game is really fucking nice. Pledge to Ares, with Athena's Sword, Ares Chestplate to name a few :P. Level 28 atm.

I just met a GoW A developer online. He stuck with me as we reduced from 1v1v1v1 in one match to another in 1v1v1 and then a final in 1v1. Thats right, yours truly went toe to toe with one of the devs in SSM HQ :D. The results I hear you ask?

Cool! I love the God of War series....and I'm a big fan of multiplayer co-op (especially in action games). I spend a ton of time playing Ninja Gaiden and Demon's Souls in co-op, so I'm hoping God of War's co-op is awesome.   : )

I love GOW so I'm stoked for Ascension. No idea if I'll really play multi though. What exactly does it play like I can't really figure it out from the trailers

its really hard for me to explain. I have tried, but only manage to confuse people more. There are a lot of vids on youtube now. Watch people play for the first time people in the tutorial all the way to matches against other people. Like this you will see how easy it is to learn, but with plenty of depth.
