500GB PS3 with a game I already own for another console ($300)

or

250GB PS3 with a game I don't even know that I'll care to own? ($260)

not sure how much I'll be downloading things, but I intend to use any install features to their fullest, and I have a list of about 18 games/game collections that I want for sure, with another list of about 8 or 9 that I'm on the fence about (to include the game that comes with the 250GB bundle).

If they are same price why not go for 500 GB. If you end up getting playstation plus that extra hard drive is going to come in handy. You can always sell the game that comes with it.

Go to Amazon or somewhere that will tell you the resale value of the game you already own. If it's decent, then I would definitely go with that one. Actually, if they're the same price, then I'd probably go with the 500GB model anyway.

I'm planning to do that very thing, likely on eBay or something.

I'm very heavily leaning towards the 500GB one. I just feel like that's way more space than I'm ever going to need, so I want to be sure there aren't good reasons that I should get the other instead. I'm being vague about the games included on purpose because I don't want game fanboys being all, "OMG THAT GAME IS aMAzING YOU GOTTA GET IT."

Trust me, with the amount of stuff you'll be downloading (especially free if you subscribe to PS+) you'll go through those GBs pretty fast. In 18 months, I finally ran out of memory on my 320GB.

Actually, this is all moot. Turns out they're NOT the same price, Amazon just lists them funny.

$260 for the 250GB bundle, $300 for the 500GB. Slightly harder to decide now...

If I'm right, then the resale value on the 500GB title is pretty high, way higher than the other one.  If you sold your copy right now, the end difference would probably be like $20 between the two models.

You don't have to go with the 500BG model by any means, you'd just have to start deleting game data a lot sooner.  If you don't play old games very much then 250GB will be fine.  It would be harder to manage if you get PS+, though.  I'm going to have to delete a game the next time I get anything from PS+, myself.

I just checked and I can make back the $40 difference selling the 500GB's game on eBay, plus at least another $5. The 250GB's game is less than $30 right now, and I have to buy two other games to go with it anyways, if I DO get it. So that'd turn into an additional $40 purchase already, which will likely become a cheaper purchase down the line when I end up buying it if I decide I want it and I get the 500GB one.

That may have been worded funny but I'm mostly just thinking "out loud" right now so it's going to sound funny.

I'm leaning more towards the 500GB one. Right now just waiting to see what anybody else thinks and I'm probably going to order it later today. They also have an offer for free one-day shipping too!
