When I was considering a handheld device (I ended up getting a laptop), my major reason I'd pick a DS over a PSP was merely the fact that the games for the PSP kinda suck. There aren't a ton of RPGs, and I am a huge RPG fan. The DS has quite a bit of good RPGs, and the PSP has only a handful (of course, the good ones aren't in the US right now).

 I have no need for a portable media device. Thats a great feature of the PSP that I don't care about. I think because of the fact that it's just a PSPornable for alot of people is why games don't sale: They want naked women instead. Maybe there could be a few hentai games made for it? I'm sure that'd move ALOT of units real quick, lol.

Maybe even a DOAX PSP or something.

That is a 40$ diffrence. That is the price of 1 game on the DS.

Add a 70$ memory card to your PSP, and you have a multimedia BEAST.

When I get my 4gb memory stick, I will use it for multimedia, and my 1gb for games/saves.

However I can fit a DVD quality, video on my PSP in around 800megs. (yeah, higher than the quality stuff you download off the net for free, as I do stuff the legal way)  (this is a 2 hour 15 minute move tho)

I could fit roughly 5 full length movies on my PSP here in another week. That translates roughly into about 8 hours of video, or roughly 1 battery pack.

You better have alot of free time on your hands to be watching 8hours of video ;)

I bought the PSP as a media center/PS3 accessorie.

ALSO!!!!  If anyone uses the 'remote' function on their PSP they will notice that unlike before where no games would show up on the PS3 through the PSP remote... they do now... just none of them support it, so possibly in the future you will be able to play PS3 games on your PSP... anywhere in the house. (now how much would that rock?)

Cant beat that boss? Mom sending you to bed? No big deal, leave the PS3 on, and sneak the PSP into your room! Keep at it all night long!

THe PSP has way better games than the DS.Every time someones points the "great " catalogue of the DS we hear the same games over and over from one year and year and a half .Outside the touch generations stuff it cant compete with the PSP in any genre .THe PSP has a continuous flood of good games .This year we have for example the likes of Sid Meir Pirates!,Ratchet & Clank ,Cube ,Afterburner Black Falcon ,Puzzle Quest Challenge ,Medal of Honour ,Exit 2 ,Prince of Persia Rival Swords ,Test Drive Unlimited ,Burnout Dominator ,Virtua tennis 3 ,MLB The Show ,Dragonball Z Shin Budokai 2 .....and in Japan Monster Hunter 2 ,Tales of Destiny 2 ,GUndam Generation vs Zaft Portable ,Final Fantasy I ....

As for RPG the PSP has quite a good amount of

 Jean D´Arc ,Tales of Eternia ,Tales of the World Radiant Mythology ,Suikoden Collection ,Magna Carta Portable ,Tales of Phantasia ,Tales of Destiny 2 ,Disgaea Hour of Darkness ,Brave Story ,Ys Ark of Napisthim ,Key of Heaven ,Blade Dancer (not so hot ) ,Bounty Hounds ,Jewel Summoner ,Popolocrois ....

 Add more FFs to that

So in fact, what is your point Kwaad, giving us knowledge about a machine that isn't supposed to bring gaming to the people?

i mean come on, Ps3 is the ultimate gaming machine and also meant for it!!

Sony doesn't bring anything to gaming really, so why discuss the other parts it can do while this is a gaming community?

Honestly, a lot of the stuff on the DS that doesn't use the touch stuff properly just seem like better looking GBA games (and sometimes not that). Though my favorite hand held game in years is on the DS (Elite Beat Agents) and for that reason alone I've spent a lot more time on my DS than my PSP.

i need someway to get rid of my dust! no but seriuosly i just dont play it at all now, but i LOVE loco roco, its one of my favourite games. i just play my ds a lot more thats all

The psp does to much for its own good. perhaps if sony concentrate more on games for it than all these bits and bobs then it would be doing as good as it deserves to be doing. im not cussing it, i love the machine!
