Forums - General - If the world ended on the 21st

First off I don't believe in the 2012 apocolypse and I find it amusing that many people do believe in it, however just wanted to hear what you guys think.  So if it happened would you prefer to die, live in a world that is in an apocolypse etc etc.  Also what would you have wished you would have done with your life differently or future wise?

Just thought we could use a break with predictions on consoles new or old. Maybe we can get some interesting conversations in here XD

thank god for a welcome change.

well i don't buy it either, but if it were to happen, i wouldn't want to die. i'd wish i'd have had alot more sex, and asked my best friend to go out with me. i've let her go through alot that i could have prevented by just dating and starting a relationship with her.........i think.

oh and i'd still all the consoles i don't own. and the guns and food i don't have.

Well if the world does end next Friday it won't be because of the Mayans. First of all if the Mayans did predict the end of the world on December 21st 2012 of their calendar we'd have already been dead for a while now. You see the Mayans did not have a leap year that tacks an extra day onto the calendar every four years.

Secondly there is nothing that has been found that indicates that the Mayans predicted the end of the world on that date. All these idiots are basing it on the fact that the Mayan calendar ends on that date which is significant of nothing.

Also if indeed we are to be wiped out by a giant meteor or a rogue planet where the F is it? Surely if it's going to hit us in 6 days we'd be able to see it by now.

Many of our computer programs from before the year 2000 were written with dates that didn't work properly after the year 1999. Why, because programmers were too lazy to think that far ahead.

Were the Mayans too lazy to continue a calendar from thousands of year ago past December 21st, 2012. Maybe.

After watching doomsday preppers I think I rather just die instead of living in a post apocalypse world with a bunch of paranoid armed to the teeth people. No thanks. I learned a new term anyway 'bug out'

I'm going to Egypt in the 21st even if the world didn't end, its such a shitty day, if it ended there, it would be a good thing.

According to most prophecies we would have died like 3-4 times already. So yeah I don't believe this stuff.

Nintendo and PC gamer

My preferred apocalypse:

"Many years ago this was a thriving, happy planet - people, cities, shops, a normal world. Except that on the high streets of these cities there were slightly more shoe shops than one might have thought necessary. And slowly, insidiously, the number of the shoe shops were increasing. It's a well-known economic phenomenon but tragic to see it in operation, for the more shoe shops there were, the more shoes they had to make and the worse and more unwearable they became. And the worse they were to wear, the more people had to buy to keep themselves shod, and the more the shops proliferated, until the whole economy of the place passed what I believe is termed the Shoe Event Horizon, and it became no longer economically possible to build anything other than shoe shops. Result - collapse, ruin and famine. Most of the population died out. Those few who had the right kind of genetic instability mutated into birds who and vowed that no one should walk on the ground again." - Douglas Adams, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Book 2
