Forums - Gaming - Next Gen Final Fantasy Tech Demo Specs Revealed

Thinking about it now, I doubt the specs matter?

These guys live on there computers and always need the best of the best for their hardware, so as soon as the best GPU/CPU/RAM whatever comes out S-E probably buys it and upgrades their computers.

For all we know what's needed to run that tech demo could be half of what this guy's computer is.

Like I said the GTX 680 runs this demo without fullpower... there are a lot of demos better running on PC for GT680 or HD 7970.

Not exactly, but it definitely is a monster.

Which other single CPU you think is better???

CPU? Lol, the 680 is a GPU. As for a single GPU, the 680 is the fastest, yes, but that's not what you said.

lol my mistake... I wrote C insted G... lol lol lol

So who else wants to fight me on the fact that consoles have been holding graphics back hard since that demo didn't even tax a single 680? :P

Have you even heard of THe CeLL!!!!!

yeah man! got one next to my Wii U brah! playing some shit game called ff13-2 right now and I'm kinda regretting picking it up used for even 20 bucks but I gotz to finish it!

Just take a second PS3 and place it on top of the other one. Turns your game into a beast. Just keep that Wii U at least 10 feet away. Wouldn't want it to blow up.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

Yeah, no. I don't buy this as indicative of anything the PS4 or NextBox will be even remotely capable of.

We're not getting Ivy Bridge i7-level CPU. Nor do I buy for a second that Sony or Microsoft will put in the GPU equivalent of a 7870, when that's at or even above the top-of-the-line performance of the best notebook GPUs. The most plausible HD 7000 series rumors I've heard have been a gimped 7850; the full retail version of that performs anywhere from 20% to 50% below the 680 depending on the game. And unless we're getting 16GB of RAM, games with texture data alone that takes up 2GB of RAM will be an issue. The OS and services of modern-day consoles are far more of a factor now than the bare-bones stuff we saw even last generation.

The price of consoles with anything like the kind of hardware used here would be ridiculous even without consideration for size or power draw. Putting that into something with the size and power consumption of a console at a non-stupid price range is not happening.

With a TDP from 200-300 and 28nm chips (Sea Islands), 6-8 gb ram and optimization, I can see it happening (1080p/30fps) for 399 (basic PS4/720) at the end of 2013. AMD will make sure to give Sony/MS the newest they have just like 2005. And the next die shrink for AMD should be established in time.

The graphics from Agnis aren't even that special its more the artstyle, assets which makes it extraordinary imo.

I just fear they will pack the next gen with worthless peripherals (Kinect/Move/Tablets) and have to cut back on hardware power to stay at 399.

could you give us some examples?

I want to see how good those graphics can be

This demo put a GTX 680 at fullload and at 1080p it can just run at 23fps.

Here running in 1200p (GTX 690 of course).

PS. Set the YouTube to 1080p in the first video and Original (1200p) in the second demo... watch both in fullscreen.

Edit - Epic said the GTX 680 can run the Samaritan Demo... the video below is running in 3x GTX 580.

Guys I can see AMD putting a mid-rage Sea Islands on PS4 or 360 next year...

Radeon HD 8850 (Oland Pro): 28nm, 1536SPs/96TMUs/32ROPs, TDP 130W.

With consoles optimizations thats will be close the TOP GPU graphics in PC this year... or even better.

oh my goodness!!!!

I guess the PS4 would probably be priced at $600 again or even higher if it went with that graphics card right?

so do you have any examples of how the graphics would look on the current rumored PS4 graphics card?

Edit: now i see why everybody stressed over that GTX 680 graphics card. DAMN i wish they could use that GPU!
