As do I. I was am completely content with this gen lasting longer, yet all this talk of next gen has me aroused for new systems. I think Sony might really be onto something revolutionary with these ideas. Imagine if you could have access to your game library anywhere? Its already happening with movies, most new DVDs/BluRays you buy now come with the UltraViolet digital version. You can use the included code to stream that movie to your PC, PS3,360, or download it for later.
I find it sad that the console manufactures have to go to such extremes just to combat rampant piracy and used game sales. If Gamestop doesn't want to become completely irelavent they should just offer a small portion of their used game sales back to the companies they are stealing from. Its about time Sony and the rest stop letting stores like them bully them out of their deserved profits with threats of not selling their hardware if they try to fight it. Apple does just fine selling their own shit. If Sony offered a PS3 store where I can order physical games for it and have it sent to me.....might never walk into a Gamestop again (as long as they offered frequent deals ala steam). I say cut out the middle man.

Whichever company does this first will see their brand skyrocket. Playstation store would be huge and help get the word out on their amazing exclusives better than their crappy marketing. Imagine a store lined with infamous, uncharted, littlebigplanet, heavy rain, killzone, ratchet, jak, resistance, heavenly sword, medieval, and so many more modern and old school franchise characters. It would monumentally improve console and game sales in my opinion.

I worked at Gamestop for 3 years and between the bias of the staff and general marketing leanings, the PSP and PS3 got no love. Whose idea was it that if a systems games are not selling means they should go in the far back corner where people can't even see them anymore? That doesn't even make sense. The stuff that might not be flying off the shelves should be put further in public view. From jump Sony products had little to no shelf/ad space. This is partly Sony's fault as well surely. Yet the fact employees were taught to blatently lie about some things to encourage 360 sales over PS3 was appauling during my time there. Shit, I almost got fired for correcting my boss for telling someone that the PS3 does have HDMI support, contrary to what he had just told them.
The fact that PS3 games are on BluRay which is built to last far longer and doesn't scratch was a mark against Sony at retail. The fact that many gamers had to trade in their scratched up games from PS2 and 360 was a plus as that gave them more inventory, their selling tactics exude this reality.
So yea, fuck Gamestop and stores like them. Sony should just sell their own stuff, just make a really robust online store like Amazon or Ebay.
