GameSpot doesn't seem to think very much of Borderlands 2 so I'm not sure I think very much of their opinions.

Not true. It was reviewed very well by them and they have given it a lot of publicity since then but their has been better games this year in their opinion. I love borderlands 2 also but I wouldn't give it the rewards either. Being nominated is an award all in its own too though.
