Halo? No. I've never owned an XBox console, but Halo is the finest FPS I've ever played. I don't know what makes it so great, it just is. I put it above Half Life 2, GoldenEye, No One Lives Forever 2 and Soldier of Fortune.

None of them are over rated. The good games have good scores and the mediocre ones have mediocre scores. But hey Im sure you guys will just vote with a bias opinion. Im going to guess you guys voted halo.

Hey, I just called Halo the finest FPS I've ever played. :p Something being underrated or overrated is always about personal opinion. But hey, we are persons with opinion.

It wasn't hard to figure out that the two xbox exclusives will get voted as the most overated.  i find it hilarious actually because Halo revolutionized FPS games and Gears revolutionized TPS games.  Yeah they are over rated though accoding to the polls haha I guess the scores, the sells, and all the games that are based off of the successful styles they brought are just proof of such over rated games.

halo destroyed first person shooters and dragged them into the gutter. and this has nothing to do with ps3 vs xbox fanboyistic crap.

this has got to do with that FPS used to be the crown jewel of PC gaming and halo f*cked it up royally.

as an old school fps gamer who started gaming with doom, quake, hexen, heretic, quake 2, unreal, half-life... i detest halo and the guy who wrote the piece is incredibly polite

I will restate what I said.  Halo revlotionized console FPS games.  Personally I find Halo more enjoyable than doom, quake, Unreal, and half life.  Half Life would probably be the most similar where as the others are arena shooters and very different.  I'd say that is a matter of taste more than anything.  Im a big UT fan by the way.

I'm probably gonna get flamed by this but i think Batman Arkham City is the most overated game of all time.

Its true, it has great atmosphere and feels like Batman, but it doesnt have that Metal gear solid feel of the first one or the graphical details like the plastic strands on the medical ward or the thick glass structures. I feel they overdid it with Riddler puzzles and i think the gameplay is worse than the first game because every room seems to have those heart sensors for the guards. I still think that is a horrible design decision and i dont understand the point of it. Doing stealth kills does not feel rewarding at all in the Arkham games, even though its supposed to be a Batman game. Everything else is good, but the gameplay itself is not appealing to me and makes for one overrated game that is very impressive and cinematic but its a bore and unrewarding to play.

lol Personally I'm not a huge fan of Id games haha  Like the  quote though haha  I forget his name, but I just find him to be very arrogant for somebody who hasnt made a good game in a long time. Doom definitely was the way of the future though.
