| Jumpin said: Currently, there are WAY more games on 3DS, and the games are WAY better. For the graphics argument, games like Resident Evil Revelation and Kid Icarus in 3D mode look significantly better than any game on Vita. In addition, the 3DS has a future extending beyond 2013, something that is not necessarily a certainty for the PSP Vita. This should be a no brainer: the logical choice is 3DS |

come on man, I mean that whole post is hilariously bad but that's just taking it way too far
I know, right? I mean, there ARE more games on the 3DS, but it's had a year head start, it damn well better have more games!
This reminds me of the 360 vs PS3, for the PS3's first year it had fewer games, and definitely lacked in exclusives...and look where it is now? Enough exclusives to choke a nintendo console and ALL the multiplatform games (can you think of any games that were on 360 and Wii but not PS3? I can't, though I'm sure they exist.) I mean, there are hundreds of games split between PS3 and 360, and plenty of stuff that were on PS3, 360, and Wii, and even some that were on PS3 and Wii (No More Heroes being an example) but not 360.
Like I said, give it till next holiday and the numbers will be more balanced. as it stands, the 3DS has been on the market more than twice as long as the Vita. it's incredibly foolish to assume that it having more games given that circumstance means it's an inherently better system.
And The Vita has had a great first year. better than the DS, better than the 3DS, better than the 360 and PS3 and Wii and PS2 and...yeah, it's one of the best launch years as far as quality exclusive software is concerned. Too bad the sales didn't match that quality.
Really both handhelds are pretty pathetic, I own both and I am quite disappointed in both. The amount of support they both get is pretty pathetic. Nintendo has basically been a mario factory for the 3DS, and the mario games they have released have sucked. Sony has nothing other than tearaway and killzone on the horizon. After that the Vita will pretty much be dead in the water. The 3DS has no meaningful support on the horizon either.

I don't think any of your assertions are fair. Yeah, 3DS has mario, but it's nintendo's mascot, of course it does. Even if you take away all the mario games on the system, it's still got Zelda, Kingdom Hearts, Kid Icarus, Theatrythm, Star Fox, and Resident Evil, all essential titles no matter who you ask.
Vita also has Soul Sacrifice, Final Fantasy X HD, and an inevitable entry in the ratchet and clank, god of war, jak and daxter, infamous, Grand Theft Auto, and Sly Cooper series'. Both systems are going to do just fine. clearly 3DS is going to kick Vita's ass in sales, but that's not to say the Vita is going to fail.

Too much mario is bad. I feel that nintendo is over saturating him. They have always managed to give me just enough Mario, now they are swamping me with him. Get some other of your franchises on their. Zelda and Starfox are remakes, and are thus void. The only saving grace the 3DS has is RE:R and KI:U, which are two fantastic games, but I want more. Paper Mario was a major letdown, Luigi's Mansion looks like it's going to be a let down. You know, what more is there to say? I've been very dissapointed.
As for the Vita: Many of those franchises you stated are not inevitable: Infamous, jak and daxter, grand theft auto. None of those are guaranteed, and the last two are not even probable. The Vita is selling like it causes cancer, and it has very little support on the way. Also, games like Sly are straight up ports. I have a PS3 thank you very much. I love my vita, but it's time to get nervous my friend.

Opinion vs fact.
But I'm sure you realize this which makes my post pointless :/

I've played both Kid Icarus and Resident Evil Revelations with 3D on. They are not 'clearly better looking'. Uncharted, LittlebigPlanet, Gravity Rush, Assassin's Creed III: Liberation, Rayman Origins, Persona 4 golden, Wipeout 2048....etc, are all better looking than ANYTHING on the 3DS. coming from a proud owner of both, the 3DS doesn't even remotely compare, graphics wise. 3D is a cool gimmick, but it's nothing compared to the OLED screen of the Vita. Hell, my OLED Vita screen looks better than my 40 inch LCD HD screen that I play most games on! |
While I do disagree that Resident Evil and Kid Icarus are definitely NOT better looking than any game on the Vita, I also disagree with your statement about the games you listed being "better looking than ANYTHING" on the 3DS. Rayman Origins? No. Wipeout 2048? Not sure. Persona 4 Golden? Graphics on that weren't quite top notch. LBP I have no idea.
What I think you're thinking of as graphics is actually the clarity and colors of the Vita screen. The Vita shows off more pretty, but the graphics themselves for all those games are not quite "better" than Resident Evil Revelations. However, I probably will agree with some of the other games being better graphically than Resident Evil. Reason I can't say is because I do not own a Vita, therefore it is harder for me to compare specific games.
I have seen a Vita in person and played on one. So I know the screen itself makes games look better.

You're just very negative. your type isn't exactly fun to be around. me? I'm eagerly anticipating every major new release for Vita and 3DS. Innocent until proven guilty, I say!
And too much mario? Nobody's making you buy it. They could release a new mario every month of the year, as long as they keep releasing other games, too. Now, if they were releasing mario games and nothing else, that COULD be an issue, but Resident Evil, Kingdom Hearts, and Kid Icarus alone are three absolute must have titles that are NOT Mario. I'd also like to personally include Theatrythm Final Fantasy in that mix, since it was a truly wonderful game and deserves everyone's attention.
