about 1 month ago i bought an HDMI cable for my cablevision cable box for $60

since it's suppose to be the best in HD picture an stuff

1 week ago, a bud of mine that works at best buy, sold me an hdmi cable for xbox 360 worth $50

for $10.......he paid $8 with his employee discount and other secret ways

i had my xbox 360 plugged in with an AV cable

therefore i saw the difference, much brighter detailed picture.

then i decided to look at the hdmi cable for my cablevision & 360 and compare..........

they looked the same, I changed them around just to check if it would work, and......................

they did!!!

F-you i said to myself.

than i tried the hdmi that came with my HD-DVD player, and.........

it worked on both my xbox 360 and my cable box.

i guess i havent really been keeping up with the tech world.

 cause if i had i would have known that all hdmi cables work on all hdmi products,

or,.......  i've just been lucky, and bought a magic hdmi cable that works with all hdmi stuff thingies......

but just in-case........

if anyone in here, assuming there are people in this forum that know less than me about the tech world and......

is considering to get hdmi for ur xbox 360 or ps3,..... try the one u have already or a cheaper

dvd player cable first.

Cables cost almost nothing, and it's the easiest way for retail stores like BBY and CC to scam you out of your money.  BBY sells an ethernet cable kit for $129.99 -- the actual cost to the store is 20 bucks.  Those $35 USB cables cost less than $2.  Don't buy your accessories at retail, buy them online.

but yeah, those cables are annoying.

i got mine at amazon and paid $5.29 and thats including shipping. And dont be fooled by someone telling you that there is a quality difference. HDMI transmits a digital signal so its transmitting either a 1 or a 0. Analog signals need higher end cables because they transmit waves so a little distortion has a large impact.

I also bought a couple of six foot USB extensions too, they were about $2 each and $20-30 at the retail stores. PS/2 to USB connection is about $20-30 at retail, but $5 from Newegg.com
