There has been one price drop!!!! Thats not what my argument has eben about!!! omg!!! My argument is about if there was multiple (yes, more than one!!) price drops in a short period of time (not long periods, btu short period, say a couple of months)!!!!
You are basing your "facts" on one price drop!!! which is not what my argumnent is abotu! i have explained my argument many many times now, and everytime you ahve taken it the wrong way or twisted it. I cba explaining it all again for your sake, just because you have problems understanding what i have said.

well for ps3 there was a price drop in may and the another one in nov here in the U.S.A. that is a couple of months and the sales have done NUTHIN but speed up so mab you dont even no that 2 price drops in 2007 were VERY CLOSE and sales are up!!!!!

These are all response by Dno in regards to my point of the wii setting the price for the current gen

"actually no its not because it has not dropped the price at all. wii is controlling the market not the price."

"i dont think microsoft and sony are trying to be lower then the wii.... i think they are trying to hit mass market price..... why because 400-600 is a lot of cash. i think sony is trying to get to 299 faster then 360 NOT wii."

"if wii is mass market price then my car was WAY OVER PRICED. i think (and i think everyone will aggree with me) we would all pay a little more for a ps3 then a wii because it does WAY more. If sony wanted to match nintedo then the ps3 would be 249.99 and they would lose on 150 bucks on each system sold and thats way less then they lost before in 2006 when the system dropped. obviously thats NOT their goal."

so you keep switching and still unable to address why the wii did not set the price point for the current gen at 250

"the wii has something that cannot be stopped and sony has to lower the price to counter them"

i never switched when did i switch?  i said i do not think sony wants to match the wii in price thats what i said did i not..... do you read?

i always said the mass market price for everything is different and i do not think sony wants 250. i dont think im changing at all i think both of you are.

and im not mad in fact i enjoy a little debate but i dont agree with you two at all

Due first you make it sound like the 360/ps3 are not competing with Nintendo in the price game---then you make it sound like they are in their own price game—then you make it sound like sony is directly against Nintendo  And the whole time you still say Nintendo did not set the mass market price point for this gen---make up your mind

Ok, there was two price drops, my bad. But 6 months is not a couple, look up what a couple is.. (its two for your information). 6 months is not a short period in terms of what i am talking about.

@tk1989--and the reason they did two drops was b/c sales started to slump after the first one--so they hit it again--the "fact" someone is overlooking is that sales have started to slump again so a price cut isnt a good solution ts just a quick fix

yea it is your bad and 6 months is much shorter then 2 years for xbox and none yet for wii so by your logic people should be running from ps3

ok im sorry for being confusing to you but i dont think i am and i will explain one more time.

you said xbox and ps3 are scrambling to get to mass market price which YOU said was wiis 250.

i said i disagree because if it was of the upmost importance of sony and REALLY xbox to hit 250 they would be there why? because microsoft is rich as hell then can give it to you for free and still not lose money cause of windows. and sony because of they need to make money on blu-ray they are really gonna hurt.

HD-DVD backers needed to be lower then blu-ray or they would FAIL so what happened? HD-DVD was 99 for x-mas. All im saying is ps3 might sell great for sony at 300 and that will be mass market for them. xbox mab be 250 and they will keep it at that. wii can sell at any price and xbox and ps3 cant so they are looking for a price that works for them. the demand for wii is unheard of so mab mass market is 250 who knows but once the newness of the wii wares off we will have to see what the price is to keep consoles selling.

i have said that from the start and as we change subjects we state different things so you need to read up i have answered everything you two have said to me and havent changed once.

ahhh low blow lol but so true LOL

see here is the thing....

Both Sony and microsoft came in with a price they thought would hit mass market appeal for their systems--but (pay attention here) nintendo came in with a vastly lower price and got the average joe (our mass market) consumer wondering why would i pay400-600- dollars for a game machine when chris down the street says this one is a blast and is only 250

that is how they set the mass market price--sure you and i the more informed consumer can see the value/price point for the other two should be higher but joe smoe dose not

and this is why nintendo right now is controling the price--what they say is being taken as gold and teh other two are havng to play catch up to get more people to buy the systems

i agree but if they wanted it to be mass market they would not of inculded blu-ray LOL. nintendo went the cheap way (again) and it has paid off. sony didnt and it is just starting to work for them at 400.

but even if sony made mass market price (which to you is 250) i dont think they would be good for them as they would lose money but really good for us so its just not gonna happen and all 3 companies will be different prices and make money.

199.99 is to  me is what people will love to pay for a console and i dont think that has changed. but as 10 million people on ps3 17 million on 360 and 20 million and wii people will pay a little more for a little more and some will not.
