E3 caused a huge spike in Plus subscribers when they revealed their offerings to people. Can't wait until next E3.

How many XBL, MiiVerse, or Steam commercials do you see on TV? I think it is a great service for the people who like it though, but a lot of people don't care at the moment.
I think PS+ and PSN will be tied together next gen honestly which will make it a bigger threat. Do you agree with that?

lol well of course it woud it is a new product. Come on you know this. Huge spikes don't mean much with new products because not many people have it at the moment.

When Xbox Live first got started, many. It was like the huge new service. Well...I thought it was a service.
Also, nom I dont think PS+ will be tied together. What is free is free and Plus helps them make a profit. I think they will increase the perks of Plus next gen and tweak the tier system fo Plus to make it feel larger than life. But of course like any tier service theres fewer people in the premium one than the free one. A breath of fresh air really.

PSN Plus was launched in 2010. Yeah, as I said again, their offerings caused a huge spike at E3.

I would argue that going into next gen PS+ will be more of a threat the way it is because going into a new generation Microsoft will be the only one of the big 3 requiring payment for online play. Not just that, but a person buying a 720 will dish out $60 from the get go to enable the online portions of their games. A PS4 owner will have the "option" to dish out $50 to get a service that grants them plenty of titles to play on their newly purchased machine.
By charging for online play with PS+ SONY will lose a big advantage they have against Microsoft.
This is even greater if Sony launches their console first.
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
Currently playing:
Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

If they don't tie it together then I see the majority of the people not caring still honestly. Most people don't by XBL for there services either, they buy it to pay online. The same will be for PS+. If they tie it together though then Microsoft will need to make a move because then they are direct competition. PS+ is not an online service so it not competion yet.

I hate to ask, but what services do people buy Xbox Live for?
PS+ is amazing. When I first heard about it, I thought theres no way I'm paying for that. Then I tried it out when they has a discount on the memebership, and I haven't been disappointed yet.
The only thing is, with games you get free, you loose the ability to play them when your subscription ends. Thats not really a problem for me, since I fully intend to update my subscription this January. And after I finish certain games I won't be playing them again anyway. Even if I did, I still have the option of downloading them again free of charge.
I'm not sure if this service is generating good revenue for Sony though. Its so good for the consumer, I don't think it can be as profitable as something like Xbox Live?

This is something that Sony absolutely needs to advertise more, especially at Christmas. PS+ is absolutely perfect for parents who want to keep their kids amused but don't want to spend huge amounts of dollars on new games every month. Gamers know about PS+, but they really need to advertise it to parents, as well. All the auto features would also make things easier for parents.
