Forums - Microsoft - 360 price drop

& in EU Ps3 will be at £225 100%....at GTA IV launch

SONY NEEDS FF13 then or Gt 5 around GTA launch to GET EVERYONE TO GET PS3

MGS just doesn't have that mass appeal!!

@eurenkind. If I was allowed, I would be Rolling On the Floor Laughing [only joking DKII... please don't ban me]

The 360 might outsell the Wii in some regions [America/UK/AUS] if it was about $50-100 less... but to outsell Wii worldwide it would need to be less than PS2-- say $99

The thing about the Wii is that it targets gamers girlfriends.. the 360 can't compete with that.

The price drop will help keep the 360 in front of the PS3, but it won't help with the Wii

This could very well happen. 50$ is almost as much as a new game and would make it 100$ less than the PS3.

Did I call it or what?

I think many of us did. But I also think PS3 will be cheaper once GTAIV hits, let's wait and see!

50 is to low, this is THE deciding year MS has to really deliver a punch to sony. (although with the last EU numbers in it doesn't seem that bad at all for the 360)

madskills - Your not the only one saying GTAIV would cause a X360 price drop.

Hopefully they do a $50 drop in the US + Europe, and a 5000 yen drop in Japan when IU or another major X360 launches.

Sleepwalking - MS can deliver a blow to Sony with a $50 drop - provided it drops the $50 from each SKU. Can you imagine an Arcade being about $20 cheaper than a Wii? It would definately change the sub-$250 market, as it'd possibly lure a few people from the PS2/Wii buyers (ie, people that cannot afford much).

But I do agree that a $75 or $100 drop would be the best. It'd totally kill Sony. However, at $50, Sony might not respond. At a $100 drop, Sony might respond with a $100 drop - totally nullifying the X360 drop, creating a frightening beast at $300. Which would then inherantly destroy the X360 and maybe Wii too.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
