Right, a different topic. However, I've yet to see that in here and people came in with hit-and-run posts such as "bundles. / thread" and the like. It exposes insecurities through-and-through and the main ones doing it are ironically the ones making the claims about popularity.

well that's what this whole thread is about insecurities, that's why its comparing one of 360 biggest exclusives to ps3 biggest exclusive and showing it can go toe to toe, what if i make a thread about forza lifetime sales vs GOW3 life time sales, showing forza is a better selling franshise, which in reality is not the case regardless of sales looking better on vgchartz, i know the reason because of bundles.

Uncharted 3 isn't the PS3's biggest exclusive title. Also, the point for comparison I think was fair and not insecure at all, because the OP, at no point in time, tried to down play Gears 3, unlike many of the posters who took over.

Make the Forza vs God of War thread, but just know, it would make little sense because the criteria would be vastly altered (not even close to the same genre, for starters). Can't stress enough that the only people who turned this into a needless free-for-all are the folks with the insecurities.

actually it would make sense, i can title it like this forza a bigger franshise then GOW and then show the vgchartz sales figures and you wouldnt stop hearing the word bundle.

I don't know about the other threads, but in this here thread, the ones who acted all insecure and tried to diminish the sales of a title were those favoring GoW 3.  Not the other way around.

I can't give you a 100% definitive answer, but I can speculate that it was to show Uncharted's growth (specifically in conjunction with Gears of War). Bundles cannot be ignored, no disputing that, but neither can the uptick this franchise has seen in sales, whether they exist or not.

The way I see it, Uncharted 3 wasn't expected to sell nearly as well as GoW 3. Based on the sales of prior games in each of the 2 franchises and the crazy pre-orders that GoW 3 had. So the fact that they got this close and since they share virtually the same game genre makes the comparison interesting.

really any idiot that visits this website would know 5 million is very impressive, and being in the same genre has nothing to do with sales, there was a thread showing halo 4 selling what GT5 sold in month or something, this is a flame bait thread but what ever.

Which is crazy when you think about it, because Gears of War 2 is the highest seller in the series (6.58mill), and Uncharted 2 is now over 6 million (just 500K behind it, in fact). The two franchises got closer with the last release, and I don't believe Uncharted 2 was bundled to the degree that Uncharted 3 has been.


Nah, Uncharted 2 sold well, but that's only because it was packed in, included with every single copies of Uncharted DF since before the game was even made, or because it was given away for free at every single one of the planet's Subway restaurant with the purchase of a regular 6 incher for like 3 years in a row... ¬_¬

Which is crazy when you think about it, because Gears of War 2 is the highest seller in the series (6.58mill), and Uncharted 2 is now over 6 million (just 500K behind it, in fact). The two franchises got closer with the last release, and I don't believe Uncharted 2 was bundled to the degree that Uncharted 3 has been.

uncharted 2 managed those sale sbecause it was super mass bundled, look at uncharted 2 first 2 months of sales with holidays included it probably managed  2.5 million in sales, what kind games sales that low its first 2 months with holiday's included and goes on to sell 6 million units, its called a super mass bundled game.

Here is the thing. When the select few from the Sony (OP from the now closed thread is one of them) side hijack every Halo 4, Gears of War, or Forza sales thread with their garbage about bundles and price drops it gets annoying. Especially when they turn around in a Sony thread and immediatly say it would have sold regardless of bundles and price drops.

This website has a HUGE problem with contradictions. So many things get thrown out the window when it fits a posters agenda. That is why I brought up the Halo 4 and GT 5 comparison. According to certain Sony posters Halo 4 had a huge bump in sales only because of a 40 dollar price tag it had for a few weeks. However GT 5 is at bargin bin prices yet those people would have bought the game regardless according to the Sony posters.
