i'm actually not upset, uncharted is a great franshise but its no where near as populer as gears of war 3, uncharted 3 bundled from day 1, you can find the uncharted 3 bundle every where, i would guess 2 million of it sales from bundles.

Gears of War 3 was bundled from Day 1. Beyond that, and before holiday bundles, Uncharted 3 was outselling Gears 3 weekly. I'm not sure who compared popularity, but to say it's "no where near as popular" is just completely false

uncharted 3 is mass bundled, i looked up gears of war 3 bundle and there selling for 600$ new on ebay, it says rare, limited edition bundle.

It wasnt mass bundled like Forza or Uncharted.  limitied only.

How limited were they compared to the PS3s? Care to provide any numbers?

Your plausible deniability card is overused in this thread. We have guesstimates and educated guesses based on data and this site. 

But Im basing this on that it wasn't part of MS holiday bundle. The holiday 2011 official 360 bundle was Halo Reach and Alan Wake. The Gears of War consoles with Gears 3 pack in was limited in its production, and costed a lot, unlike the cheaper Uncharted 3 bundles.

Unless you know the number of consoles that were bundled with the game(s), this is a completely baseless and anecdotal assumption.

i think its a good estimate, npd showed uncharted 3 at 700,000 in its first month of sales, the next month it was like 300,000, did'nt even make the top 10, i think its a very realistic esimate.

Hum... based on VGChartz numbers (I know, they're irrelevent, right? So please do provide the links to the numbers you're over-enthused about), Gears of War 3 stands at 5.73M while Uncharted 3 is at 5.6M.

This hardly pictures a game "smoking" an other one in popularity. 

But that's beside the point. You went around the subject discussed and didn't addressed the 40% nonsense you made up... 

just google gears of war 3 sells 3 million in a week. almost every bundled game does impressive sales, like LBP and even forza 3 get huge inflations. considering uncharted 3 was bundles from day, let keep on pretending uncharted is in the same league as gears of war 3 when it come to populairty.

Google Uncharted 3 sells 3.8m in a week. Uncharted is far bigger than Forza and LBP, with or without bundles.

already googled and saw the thread at neogaf, thats shipped not sold.

That's not the problem. People are saying Uncharted is like Forza in popularity, while Uncharted sells A LOT more and a lot faster than Forza without the bundles, and obviously more with the bundles.

Really?!?!? Even I dont agree with that.

My issue is the double standard with counting bundle sales. If you guys endorse Uncharted bundle sales then I should see no negative comments towards Forza. Then were cool :)

Wait, Forza bundles are really looked down upon?  What for? It's not like any game in that franchise outperforms GT5...

Well in reviews they all do :P. But this is about sales so....

IP sales for this gen hold their own. But dont pretend that the PS faction doesnt look down upon Forza due to its bundle sales. But when its Uncharted, bundles are totally fine I see...


As far as I'm concerned, bundles are fine no matter what game is involved. There's always the choice to get a console without any games bundled with (with very view exceptions, like with the Wii and Kinect for example). So, no matter how people attempt to spin it, if a bundle sells, it's because the customer wanted the game attached to it as well. No matter what motivation was behind that choice.

Now, unless we have the actual official amount of copies that are being bundled, these kind of discussions have next to no ground.

Only from 830 - 4:30 Mon-Friday when the office isnt too busy. Youd be surprised how successful I am outside this.

It's really not bundled to the degree that some of you want to make it, because there are plenty of skus that don't have Uncharted, unlike a pack-in that can be bought no matter what system sku we're talking. What is it bundled more than Gears 3, indeed. However, the Gears 3 bundle still helped push sales.

yea the gears of 3 bundle is also 100$ more when it came out, it was a collecters item, unlike the uncharted 3 bundles were there giving out amazing deals.

I voted UC 3 with bundles will pass Gears 3

These two series are funny for me as Uncharted 2 and Gears 3 are two of my all time favorite games. Uncharted 3 and Gears 1 and 2 I think are highly overrated IMO.

You can make estimates based on sales before bundles and sales spikes when bundles take effect. It shouldnt be 100% fact or nothing. Lets at least try to get in the "ballpark" of things. This industry doesnt give hard numbers so we have to do our best. Though I do agree with you calling the guy out on the 40% comment. Comments for me have to be based on something, even its a guesstimate
