They do!  Didn't you play Banjo's Nuts and Bolts?  What I described is exactly what Microsoft did. They ruined a great franchise by forgetting what it was actually about.

Yeah i believe that was Rare's fault.  You need to remember microsoft and sony are just publishers, not developers.  Hopefully rare makes another good banjo again one day.  Either that or give it to nintendo because they will get a developer who can make it.

Reading this thread I can't help but feel that it's full of people who kept saying they expected it to fail acting surprised it's doing so poorly, and people who expected it to be a mega hit acting completely unsurprised that it's sold so poorly.

I'm not sure if that is Rare's fault I have heard that Microsoft has put many demands on them and have forced most of the quality employees to leave Rare. Instead of actually let Rare make great games like they used to they are forced to make Kinect games. I don't trust Microsoft to handle ex Nintendo properties. I used to be excited about the possibility but there has been nothing but disappointment to date. 

Isn't this a good thing?? The fact that this game has failed. Honestly, gamers are punishing unoriginality. People can talk all they want about how this game is different and how LBP Karting is different from Mario Kart and they probably are. But the fact is that they "look" like ripoffs and I don't mind it that games that look like wripoffs fail. I would much rather reward Sony for games like Uncharted and Heavy Rain than for these games which were conceived by marketing people rather than passionate game designers.

I want to see Rare back under Nintendo where they belong.I believe somebody at Nintendo would know the proper directions those games would need to go in. I also want to see Banjo, Conker, etc in Smash Bros :)

maybe the masterminds will come back to the studio if Nintendo had them again. Could you imagine how they must have felt when they seen how successful the Wii was after they went to Microsoft under the impression that Nintendo was a sinking ship?

I would any game with a poor beta would get the curious to exhaust their interest and I felt both LittleBigPlanet Karting and Playstation All-Stars had poor beta's.

LittleBigPlanet Karting has long loading and the focus of fun isn't on local multiplayer (where kart racers do best).

Playstation All-Stars talked about too much, over saturated coverage... causes people to lose interest and most of the gameplay videos shown look like chaotic mess with the four players. Aside from the Robot Chicken video, the game's trailers have also not sold the fun and entertainment aspect of it.

I have PS All-Stars and I think it is a fine and fun game... great for local multiplayer and the game design, mechanics, character diversity, etc all work well for it while controls are generally pretty accessible. I think it will do well in long term with hopefully evergreen sales after some hands on parties take place and word of mouth helps game do better.

That is what you get for releasing this plagiarism to a fanbase which is demanding third party characters. Glad people gave this the finger. You cannot release a rip off this shameless and expect to come close to the figures that the real deal achieves.
