Dude, it's a new IP that has a hell of a negative stigma to overcome in the public's eyes (being a smash brothers clone). give it time, dude. Legs will be this game's friend.

In this case HYPE AND TYPE! before DOOM AND GLOOM!

I don't think this thread would have been created if it wasn't for people prdicting 3m+ sales.  You may be correct about legs though as we don't know for sure what will happen.

In Europe it didn't even chart properly, but based on UK numbers that are estimated to be around 5k we can extrapolate numbers for the whole of Europe, let's say 20k. So can we still say that Sony games don't sell on Sony systems? Let's take a look:

PlayStation Move Heroes: 0.12m
LittleBigPlanet Karting: 0.13m
PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale: 0.15m, but probably overtracked.

For comparison, Call of Duty: Black Ops II (PS3) sold 4.61m in week one alone.


This game is a oneoff I guess.  What Nintendo game will Sony copy next?

i don't think its a major flop. with no advertising and call of duty came out plus it came out on black friday week plus halo 4 to overshadow it, it did fair for its first week. i say its a minor flop. Uncharted 1 first week sales were weak but look at it now. First week sales for Uncharted 1 was 0.10, didn't make it close to a million sales but now Uncharted 1 sold 5+ million units sold. PS3 games tend to slowly rise in sales because they don't advertise nothing. i say wait till november 2013 and if it sold less than 1 million units than yes it is a major flop but don't base it as a major flop in one week in sales. wait till it has been on the market for a year and than decide if its a major flop or not

Them are the only New Ip's off the top of my head but if I went and looked at the list Im sure that would increase majorly.  If we include exclusives then it will increase even more.





All of those games were either obscure, niche, or Japanese oriented, aside from Brink, which many considered just another average game in a crowded genre.

bullshit, it's one of the most advertise Sony game I have seen in a long time, on tv anyway

PABR is not obscure, niche, or Japanese oriented since its basically a rip off of Smash Bros which saw success all around the world. It's also not an average game in an crowded genre.
