As you undoubtably know, Nintendo is releasing a slimmed down version of the Wii exclusively in Canada

http://www.gamrreview.com/news/89519/wii-mini-available-in-canada-december-7th/

I'm considering selling some on E-bay (earn some extra Christmas $$) but wanted to gauge interest and I know there's a lot of serious game and system collectors on this site that would likely be potential consumers of such a novelty item.

There's already lots listed on E-day but from what I can tell, there doesn't appear to be much interest.  Perhaps that's because it's not out for another 10 days or so.   Prices range from $160 to $200 CDN once shipping is included.

Would you get one?  How much would you pay for it (total costs)?   Cost in US or Euros is fine.

Lol. It is gonna sell but wont sell out enough for overpriced units to be sold/marketed on Ebay like the Wii-U.

$99.99 is a decent price I guess but due to the lack of internet, b/c with GCN games, it is kind of a rip off.

You are better off emulating the Wii or buying the original Wii unit (even though the latest ones dont have b/c with GCN games :/).

Due to the lack of the above I would say at least $79.99 would of made more sense, $99.99 if it comes bundled with a game like Super Mario Galaxy/2 or Super Smash Bros Brawl.

Personally I agree.  If I want a cheap second one, I'll get a used one with GC compatibility / internet.   However, we're not the target market, it's for casuals who might still want to play Wii Sports, Wii Fit or the like but wouldn't shell out more than $100 for a system.

Or people who just want it as a collectible simply because it'll be a rare novelty (outside of Canada we assume).

I would get one.....but ONLY if it actually ups the resolution of Wii games the way the Xbox 360 and PS3 (if you got a Backwards compatible one like me!) ups the visual quality of Xbox/PS2 games. The Wii U makes Wii games look a little better but not on the level that the other HD consoles boost the appearance of older games.

I would if I could afford it.

I LOVE ICELAND!

You did this thread for me? How sweet
ill pay you 200€ shipping included if you send me one to Spain
Deal or no deal?

To everyone claiming that people would be better off emulating the Wii than buying this, I think they're missing the point of having a Wii Mini in the first place. This is basically to target those who want a cheap gaming console, with an established library, plenty of cheap games, and do not see online gaming or playing gamecube titles as a priority... This will appeal to many many people, and I really doubt the target audience for this console is the same audience that happens to have a pc that can run the dolphin emulator perfectly, and has all the setups to replicate a Wii console experience.

I got a Wii U already.  It doesn't really improve the image of Wii games very much.  If the Wii Mini can do that, I'll buy one.

I'm going to sell by black wii on ebay in the next days. i am pretty sure the wii mini will be released worldwide anytime. just can't imagine to release a hardware revision just for one market.
i'm not playing very much wii either. i will also sell my 3DS, and then wait for a good 3DS offer - i'm not playing it much either, because it has no gaemz.
