I love it when these games fail, now everyone that hyped it as the second coming of Christ get a right hook from Kimbo Slice back down to earth, it's so glorious it brings a tear to my eye

This is off topic but Kimbo Slice is shit. Guy can't last in the UFC cause all he has are his punches. Take him to the ground and hese done.

Yea just get Kimbo on the ground and it's like pinning down a baby. He was a beast when he was underground though(except for he got gassed when he fought Gannon). Kimbo is a professional boxer now last time I checked. Hell, I think Mayweathers left hook is better than Kimbos right hook :P

Im not sure who brought up AAA games but a score does not make a game AAA. That is just the budget.

Yeah remember me saying this game was going to flop both score and and sells wise? Not so outrageous anymore huh?

its scores didn't flop tho.

It was hyped as a 70s game? Come to think of it every important PS3 exclusive this year scored in the 70s, with only MLB scoring in the 80s. Dont tell me those were all predicted accordingly.

The highest rated console exclusive of the year is a PS3 exclusive. So try again. Meanwhile, none of MS 90+ rated franchises managed a 90 this time around. Shouldn't this tell you something?

Edit: Basically, Halo 4 was hyped as an AAA rated game. It wasn't. Same for Forza.

MLB is on Vita. Ergo it is not a PS3 exclusive.FYI, MLB being the highest rated PS3 game of 2012 is not something at all to brag about...

Forza was predicted as a 80s game due to being a sprinoff. That prediction was met.

I wasn't talking about MLB. I was talking about a GOTY contender

Ah, figured it was MLB since I mentioned it before. I was refering to retail only, but perhaps I should have specified that.

But XBLA got Mark of the Ninja and Trials Evolution, both cracked 90 range. Sure Journey is GOTY material because its artsy and different, but core gamers would rather play those two games instead.

But 90+ is 90+. What number it is, is details. 90+ deserves universal praise, its all in the same camp.

^Neither of those are exclusive. Again, beaten at your own game

Neither is available on PS3, which is just as good. But fair enough if were talking strict exclusives.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

OMG 38??? Thats got to be some sort of record.

Yay!!!

I think the games Lair and Too Human bombing on metacritic proved that big budgets can make bad games.

Therefore it sounds wrong to call a game AAA when its meta is in the 50s or worse. So now it has dual meanings. It can refer to quality and budget.

As Pezus said, most of the hype was from Nintendo fans hoping it would fail because of how much it looked like Smash Bros. They haven't even played the game enough to realize it's nothing like Smash Bros. The only hype for this game was the hype that it would fail. Pathetic.

pezus said that? Wow. Just how low can that guy sink?

He said most of the hype was that Sony was copying from Nintendo. Who else was saying that Sony copied Smash? I think Xbox fans could care less about All Stars vs Smash so that leaves the Nintendo fans being outraged because someone made a fighting game with Sony characters. Didn't realize Nintendo had a monopoly on the genre and were the only ones allowed to make that type of game.

Are you really trying to deny the similarities between them? Becasue if you are that is just sad, they my play different but ill be damned if you try to say it did not rip off the Smash bro. aesthetic completely with no imagination

So if a shooter game uses the same guns as Call of Duty, it's ripping off CoD?

Actually Trials Evolution is.  It is only on 360 and published by Microsoft.....Mark of the Ninja is on PC though.

You predicted a score of 76-82, which...is not a flop

Considering the way people were hyping this game up all year long yes I see this as a flop on both sides. People were predicting this to be a multi-million seller, and honestly unless this game get's bundled itll be lucky to reach 1 million.  Im not sure what the metacritic for it is atm, around a 78 which is not a big flop but for the expectations that people had it is a bit low.  I'm not saying it is a bad game because I know people are enjoying it on here but I have stood behind my prediction since the beta.

As for scores, most people expected low 80s or even lower. Scores are a bit low, but not enough to say the scores have flopped. It's as much of a flop as Halo 4 is.

I dont know why you are following this path of debate when you dont agree with the initial view, its pointless.

The fact is it got a review in the mid 76 and Halo 4 got 87.  Relative score to previous iterations mean nothing.  In the context of the current reviews climate Halo 4 is clearly quite a bit the better game from a critical perspective and in a different universe for a sales perspective.

Cut the ridiculous comparison, stop playing games and semantics with other peoples posts and say what you personally think about the sales and critical reception of the game.

Wasn't the expectation for Halo 4 a 93 and it got an 87? 6 points less,

All Stars expectations was an 82 and it got 76? 6 points less.

Obviously Halo 4 got a better score (durp) but they are arguing as to what is considered a flop in terms of the games meta expectation and final meta score.

Currently yes, it is slated to be out on PC in early 2013.
