So I was thinking about the vita and how Sony could expand the vita range maybe to increase the user base. What about a Vita tablet? Around 8 inches (think ipad mini) but with dedicated gaming buttons on each side ( they don't have to be huge and ugly) about the size of the vita buttons with with the 2 little analogue sticks. 

The Vita is expensive at £230 BUt a Playstation Vita Tablet for around £299 would be cheap. Think of how many kids love gaming and want iPads. This could be a very good move. 

I personally love the vita but I don't play it In public. At 21 I dont really like the idea of using a portable gaming device in public but I feel better using a ipad for gaming in public tbh. Also there are rumours of the Xbox Surface about and this could be a very exciting move for gaming. 

What do you think? 

I can't imagine anyone playing videogames outdoors with a tablet. Indoors, a Wii U like solution is cheaper and much more powerful.

I just can't see the market for this type of products.

I'm starting to think Sony should of made a PS phone and PS tablet instead of another handheld.

While i love the vita I do think a phone/tablet device could be bigger for them. I would have prefered a tablet to a handheld. But I do love the vita :D 

For the vita to be a tablet I think it needs to do a lot more a lot better.

I think Sony should make a vita with basic phone capabilities and alittle bit smaller so it could be much more portable, I know making it a phone would double the price but I would rather have a vita phone then my iPhone.

Sony does make tablets, they're actually pretty nice

Hmm... I suppose something like an autonomous Wii U controller could work. And if Vita games are compatible with it... yes, I could see this happening.

There is no need to be rude. It's how I personally feel about playing games in public places. I m not saying its bad for anyone else. It's just not for me. 

Yeh I have just been looking at the Experia Tablet and its very nice. If it had a vita  in I would buy it! :P

No point in releasing "gaming tablets" to compete with iPad, Kindle if they don't offer free games as well.

You known that could be a great idea! Let those free apps/games take care of the casuals, and then the PSN store has the core games we're used to.
