Don't expect the next Xbox to have a line up a fraction near that good before PS4 launches. THird parties will save big hitters until both consoles are out.

Microsoft will probably provide financial incentives if 3rd parties are reluctant to make X720 launch titles

This. Microsoft will take a stab at sony next gen. Who knows, maybe they will hit something important.

Beyond 2 Souls, Last of Us, Final Fantasy, Tales of Xillia. etc

Those games are to good to pass up in 2013.

Those seem like quite niche titles. The vast majority of PS gamers won't be remotely interested in them imo. It's all about the multi-plats!

Since when is Final Fantasy niche? besides the MMOs.

Still have 2013 with tons of PS3 Exclusives and for everything else my PC.

Games that will show the potential of Next Gen Consoles won't be around for another year or 2 after they get released.
Every PC that can run Battlefield 3 Maxed out will do the same with every Game till 2015 just fine.CoD will use the same Engine from 1999 Next Gen too so even a Smartphone could max it out probably.Every other Multiplat game like you mentioned AssaCreed and so on will still look far better on PC.
And then the PS4 is around with tons of super exclusives and there is no reason to buy a Nextbox again.

Yea they successfully did that with Crash Team Racing :)

When was that? The PS1 days? That's like me using Goldeneye 007 on N64 as an example of how Nintendo can successfully woo the CoD crowd.

Yea it was back in the ps1 days but they still have done it at the end of the day ;)

I'm not conviced that Sony is the same as they used to be. In fact, that's a big reason why I didn't buy a PS3 this generation... definitely liked them more when they were more capably enchroaching on Nintendo's audience. Even I had a PS2 several years back.

Actually, Sony is a changed company. They are more self sufficient. Microsoft forced them to double their first party efforts in order to keep the high flow of gaming on their console that gamers are used to. Microsoft made themselves virtually indistinguishable to them in offerings but had a more affordable console and that was the deal breaker in the beginning.

That's true, but not quite what I meant. At this point, I'm just happy that Sly Cooper is making a comeback...

Here I was thinking this thread would be about PS3 gamers buying a WiiU

Instead of some unreleased console we know nothing about

What reason do PS3 owners have to nab a Wii U unless they are a Nintendo fanatic?

In a year when WiiU is at 10 million it will be a viable platform for all the third party developers like the Wii has not been.

I personally think Sony would make their games mostly for a Nintendo console exclusively, due to its popularity in Japan, and no fees for online.

Wouldn't make sense, wrong age group. The majority of people who play the PS3 are older. God of War and just does not make sense, thats overkill. Too much blood and I doubt most parents would appreciateit when they buy a  console for the family.

From a japanese market perspective. The japs don't care about GoW.

You've just proven how ill-informed you are happydolphin. Japanese gamers do care a lot for God of War, a hell of a lot more than they did for Bayonetta.

As of now Bayonetta sold 300K in Japan on the Xbox 360 & PS3, God of War III sold 420k in Japan as of early June 2012 and could be close to 500K now. Hell God of War III is even bigger than Devil May Cry 4 in Japan as that sold to date 400K on the Xbox 360 & PS3. So before you assume to speak from a Japanese market perspective perhaps it is a good idea to check out the facts first.

GOW, Last of us,  Beyond, Sly cooper, possibly Last guardian, and who knows what else they may reveal in spikes video game awards this december.

You mean like whats going to happen when the next consoles launch? Pay attention to the next gen tech demos and what these devs expect to come out of both Orbis and Durango. LOL

I agree. God of War belongs on a console that can't have Bayonetta.

LOL They can have Bayonetta, and besides that game does not represent Nintendo, it represents Sega/Platinum Games. They are trying to get the core to come over to them and I cant blame them for thinking it will work.

Indeed. It's almost like Sony making a kart racer in order to nab some Mario Kart fans. At least it shows an attempt at diversification, but sometimes it's best to stick with what the audience expects.

Totally understandable because a lot has changed since then. Sony have always used that "anything you can do I can do better" approach. Sony and Nintendo always been in their own respective markets while they were competitors. SOny always had the bigger audience out of the 2 and that is why MS infiltrated the PS market
