LOL - true! But why ungrade to WiiU then?

Well, simply because it's an upgrade, and people love to upgrade. But also for the added Gamepad experience and the Asymmetric gameplay thats is being added to the already great Wii experience. Don't scoff at that Asymmetric gameplay idea just yet. Remember that is what everyone did regarding casual gameplay, now look where we are.

But if exercise is why you got a Wii, and WiiU is doing the same exercises with wiimote/balance board then the only benefit to upgrading is HD visuals?
HD is great for CoD but Wii Fit? Who cares? You see the problem for casuals?
Actually I never scoffed at casual gameplay. In 2006 I (along with John Lucas) claimed Wii would sell $20m that year (causing a lot of devisive feedback) but were proven right. I claimed Wii Fit would be huge. I claimed Wii would create a huge casual gaming movement but it's ultimate success would be curtailed by Apple entering the market mid-generation. I was right on all accounts except Apple's iPad come out a few months later than I predicted. (April '10, instead of Nov '09) Considering I predicted that in mid '07, I think that's an acceptable margin of error. If anyone was actually listening to me and investing accordingly - they owe me a huge f--ing commission, because I also predicted Nintendo stock would peak with Wii Fit in 2008 - it did. Too bad I didn't invest on my own advice.
But for all the reasons Nintendo got it right with Wii and DS they are doing it wrong with WiiU. They have abandoned their own blue ocean strategy in an attempt to recoop the core. It's a mistake and it will cost them next gen - although I don't know if any console could stop Apple/Android from winning. But even amoungst the three consoles, I currently predict MS to handily win (but that's based on rumours being true and perfect execution)
