The point is that the PS3 canstantly, more times than not, run gamnes in 720p mode and not upscaled. Hence the games look terrible on bigger screens. The 360 on the other hand constanly upscales its games so the always look better on biggers screens. What about that you can't get through your head? My PS3 works just fine, and there is nothing wrong with the settings. |
That's only true if you have an older HD ready tv that only supports 480p and 1080i inputs.
Games actually look better on my projector if I set the 360 to 720p output, since the upscaling in my 1080p projector is sharper then the softness the 360 introduces when upscaling to 1080p.
Any modern tv accepts 720p and 1080p, but I too have a HD ready tv that's basically imcompatible with most ps3 games. It will default to 480p output for all 720p games, which are then upscaled by the tv with pretty poor results.
I just bought a new amp since the wiiU omits optical/digital sound out ports. Digital surround sound is only availalbe through HDMI. Tech moves on, or do WiiU games all sound terrible because it can only play games in analog stereo on older hardware :)
