try and message disolute. he seems to have a lot of tv and display knowledge. I agree with getting an led tv for contrast, lcd dont have dark enough blacks.

It depends on the quality of the TV and your viewing conditions. Not sure what the price differences between LED and LCD TVs are now though, if they're relatively the same, it's best to go with the LED.
