I'm assuming the arm staying didn't change anything as you choke the guy out with one hand, and all ledge climbing he just uses his stub. And yeah the final dialogues were tear jerking. I wonder how different the episode would have been if all the people went to the hospital with me (only had Kenny), and if they had of survived (Ben, etc.). |
Nothing really made a difference. I tried a couple of different scenarios. All people go to the hospital, they ask you to take your arm off, then they let you do all the work on the roof anyway.
You go alone, Lee thinks it's a good idea to take his arm off, boat still gets stolen even with all people back at the house.
Without the arm you don't black out, except the last time ofcourse when Clementine somehow drags you into the final location.
You save Ben in Ep 4, Ben falls down the fire escape, Kenny does a stupid suicide act just after he condemned committing suicide in the apartment above. You let Ben fall in Ep 4, nobody falls at the fire escape but the Walkie drops one screen later, Kenny jumps down to save Christa and is presumed dead. (Much better ending for Kenny anyway)
Whether you go first or last accross the street, exact same thing happens. Same in the apartment with the attacker, doesn't matter what you say or do. If you shoot the kidnapper you suddenly have an extra bullet for the zombie behind the door (happened in another scene too, you were out then can suddenly shoot again)
Final scene, you let Clementine handcuff the zombie, his arm conveniently breaks off. You handcuff yourself, you use your foot to give Clem the bat.
Anyway the most shocking of episode 5 to me was that 67% of players were ok with asking a 9 year old to shoot the closest person she has to a dad in the head. I asked her to leave me after handcuffing myself and having time to give some advice and say goodbye.
Btw why wasn't the option there to do it yourself?
Lily didn't steal my RV. We left her for the Walkers. Our choiced DID matter!
Thought the game was ok. The choices really didn't matter. The outcome is exactly the same. Minor changes in the storyline, but the outcome for every character is the same no matter what choices are made. Except Lee becoming a zombie or not.
Wonder how Vernon and his group moved the boat. No vehicle, no way they would have been able to pull the boat.

Man, I am glad other people have the same thoughts about this game as me. I don't understand why it's getting so many GOTY awards at all except that the walking dead is really popular.
This game was way too overhyped IMO. Doesn't deserve more than a couple of passing GOTYs. I'd rather see them go to Journey.

I guess, not for the rest of the characters, they were abandoning the rv at the exact same time anyway.
I left her in my first playthrough when she shot carley point blank out of hatred, took her with me the 2nd time when Doug accidentally got hit in the scuffle. Didn't make any difference.
What I don't get is why Ben is getting all the blame for the attack on the motel. Lee was the one stupid enough to simply remove the bag of supplies without thinking it through first. Ben actually kept them safe all that time after the dairy farm was gone.
At least Lee and Lilly should have prepared for eventual repurcussions in messing with any arrangments.

Did they know what was going on? I think Lee and Duck were just following a trail of clues and Lee found the stash. Ben could have just told the rest of the people what was going on.

Actually, it was the game that made me watch The Walking Dead. I personally didn't care for either until Badgenome told me to play it. He didn't even hype it up. He just told me to try it. The game was so awesome, to me, that I went back and watched every episode of the show (which was also awesome!).
I really enjoyed the game Heavy Rain for the PS3 because I allowed myself to get into the story and forget that, despite ads saying the opposite, most of my choices really didn't matter. The same with The Walking Dead. Yeah, a $5 downloadable game (or a $30 disc) could only have so much content. Yeh, it's a video game so I guess the "game" part is more important but, to me, it just didn't matter. For five episodes, I was trying to survive in zombie infested Georgia (didn't hurt that I actually live in Georgia and I go to Savannah all of the time). It was more of a digital comic book but I don't care. It sucked me in more than any other title this year.....including Journey.
I made a weird decision that made Clementine take a surgery so she could be a trans. Also you cant avoid Lee becoming a zombie, so I had to cut his arm off. It turns out that Kenny cut off the wrong arm.
I also had a weird ending with machine guns and helicopters. Apparently the zombies can talk english.
Also in the alternate hidden ending, Kenny and Clementine made a baby.
Yay!!!
My manly tears leaked out of my face without my permission.
I'm glad badgenome never recommended this game to me because I would have never played it then.
