You are right about that in ways.  Developers do no develope for PC  very often.  In a few cases yes like Battlefield 3 and The Witcher 2.  But PC is capable of things like this and through modding it happens.  

Yeah consoles hold PCs back, which proves my point. Exclusive games like Halo and Uncharted can rival PC graphics because hardly any studios try to push PCs. It's like comparing XBOX 360 to PS3. 1st party games from Sony look better than 360 games yet both still compete. Why wouldn't consoles to PCs be the same?

No console game rivals PC game graphics. When it comes down to it, the resolution of all nice looking console games is very low, there is a lot of aliasing and the textures are so low res in places it hurts (yes, even in UC3).

OT: It's perfectly fine to compare 360 and PS3 and Wii U graphics imo, even though we all know PC is capable of a lot more. There's nothing that says you can only by the most powerful hardware. Not only do you give us a bad name here, Jay, but you also draw out a lot of haters that have no idea about PC gaming (not talking about you, JoeTheBro).


I believe it is fine to a point.  And if we are talking about vgchartz having a bad name it already does.  If you are talking about PC gamers then I'd say they are a lot less annoying than console fans with the console war.  

regardless the worst site I've seen with this kind of stuff is N4G.

You would need to go look for the mod that he was using.

I actually wasn't annoyed in that thread for a long time.  I enetered it thinking I was going to see something new.

That's how I agree with OP. Otherwise I agree that people should talk about graphics all they want, without assuming superiority in any way, since they get clobbered by the big pink giant in the room (PC).

you set up a thread on the topic ( very interesting looking game i might add )...

and he completely ignores it to hop into a ps3 thread to bash a topic he has no interest in discussing

I dont know if you just didnt read that thread but I believe i explained multiple times that it was motion capture.  That was the tech they are using in that game.  I didnt get upset until the constant comments of jelly?  The thing is I'm buying that game so there would be no reason to be jellous, and even if I didnt I have a PC that produces better graphics than that.  I get what you are saying in a way that you think Im bashing the game but that was not the case.  I pointed out that it is not gameplay.  Yes it is in game, but when you have a game that is scripted in closed areas with motion capture you can put that much detail in it.  It is much like L.A. Noire in that sense.  I didnt post anything about PC until the whole jelly stuff.  I personally play consoles more than PC but it is very tiring hearing these kind of comments constantly.  Beyond, Last of Us, Uncharted, Halo, Forza are all great looking games but they all have to do little tricks to make them look better, it is great developers who are making them look good, it is not the X360/PS3.  It is impressive that developers are able to make games look that good on that old of hardware which is why I'm impressed.  We are at a point now where games arent going to be technicly better in graphics on consoles.  They will have different artistic styles and different techniques.  It is a matter of opinion on what you think looks best which is why it gets old with these type of debates.  As I said though I understand why you think I was bashing but I wasn't, I was pointing out the technology that it is using.  Could I have went about it in a better way?  Yes, but what is done is done, now relax about it

 

you've clearly missed my point which is to say that another user has set up a thread where he hopes to carry out a discussion on an impressive pc game

all this time you've been making comments as someone who prefers pc gaming 

what confuses me is why you'd neglect to join his thread and carry out discussion there to join a thread on a topic you have no interest in

I've found N4G to be actually pretty pro-PC when it comes down to it. But a lot of it revolves around PS3 vs. 360 of course.


No I just mean very bias and the arguments.  Nothing to do with PC, PS3, or 360.  It is just everybody argueing with everybody.  That is one thing I'm glad about on this site is the moderators do a pretty decent job of controlling it.  Yeah people have arguments on here and you can still tell if someone is bias or not but you at least can have a good conversation even when you dont agree with someone rather than being unlogical.

I knew what you meant the moment I read the title, and I whole-heartedly agree with you. Those people (who feel superior) are just silly, and one term will help cure them. That term is High-end PC.

Such people put an ungodly emphasis on console horse-power, when in the end consoles are made to be affordable entertainment experiences historically speaking. That's how they've worked in the market, that's how they're designed for success.
