Well, if I only had a PC I would have missed almost all of my favourite games since most Japanese Developers did not make games for the PC:
I would have missed Sony and Nintendo first party franchises, most Final Fantasy games, Kingdom Hearts, Dragon Quest, some Resident Evil and Metal Gear Solid... You may have gotten most of the best US/EU Games for the PC, but you would have missed the best from Japan. Btw, I played Warcraft II and CIV 2, X-Com on the PS1... so they are not PC exclusive.
Why is expecting a 20 year lifespan insane? Production of the PS2 has just ended now in Nov 2012, so the PS2 already had a lifespan of 12 years. And that was without hard drive and digital downloads. Why should people stop buying the PS3 when it reaches the sweet price spot and you can get a quality console and most games at a very cheap price without having to search through ebay or flea markets for the games when they are no longer sold at retailers? Ok, the "Hardcore gamer" will probably always have the latest console at home. But why shouldn't the normal gamer start with a PS3 and a cheap backlog online. The graphics have already reached a very good level and progress will not matter that much in the future.

See where I'm going with this? You can't expect one machine to get ALL the games

Yeah I agree with this completely 100%
This is why the console wars annoy me the most because all three consoles has great exclusives which is why I play all three. However if you dont like the type of games for that console then dont get it but no need in argueing that a different console is better because they may like those type of games better.
P.S. Possibly the best comment I've yet see you make :)

So... If we take your word to mean anything... You shouldn't get annoyed by people posting console graphics appreciation threads...
Because this thread OP never even mentioned any other platform other than the PS3. It didn't compare the visuals to the PC, 360 or Wii U.
So, again, you over-reacted over nothing.

I reacted due to the comments in the previous thread. There is nothing to be jellous of. For one I'm buying that game and for two it is not the most powerful thing I've seen so people shouldnt be saying jellous either way because I can simply say jellous for the same thing yet what I am saying about PC isn't comparable. This was just to make a point, nothing else. And I mentioned all consoles, if I didnt make that obvious enough I apologize but Im talking about all consoles.

It was still, like our little exchange here, completely out of topic, served no purpose in the thread other than to address your little agenda, and antagonized everyone posting on-topic for absolutely no good reason at all.

I get what you are saying and I won't disagree with you on that as I could have probably went about it in a better way, I should have pointed it out in the first comment instead of a few comments later but I was pointing out it was using motion capture. It is a lot like a movie in a way and if you had full control of the characters they wouldnt look as good, none the less it is still impressive. See everybody thinks I'm bashing a game because I say this but let me ask, if it wasn't an exclusive do you think people would have made as big of a deal as they did?

That idea you have about motion capture is nonsensical. Most of the movements in current gen games use motion capture. Unlike the method used in L.A. Noire for facial animation, the one used by Quantic Dream doesn't change the polygonal aspects of the graphics at all. The console still has to push a given amount of polygons, texture quality, anti-aliasing,etc, in real time for everything you see on-screen. ¬_¬
I'd be with you if everything was a pre-rendered video being streamed during that kinf of scene, but it Quantic Dream's case, they do all their cut-scenes using real time rendering.
