Hey, who knows, right? Maybe if you guys keep hoping and thinking about it, you'll get those 3rd party AAA's in your dreams.

Sorry, it's a litlte hard to dream let alone sleep from all the Sony fanboys crying out n agony from the AAA 3rd party title Monster Hunter 3 jumping ship from PS3 exclusivity to Wii exclusivity.

I guess that's what you meant before about these games being PS360 games.

Now I'm really confused....Didn't Phatt Matt just throw a massive fit, claiming no publishers would touch AAA games for Wii? Seriously, why is this guy still working.

This is what I was thinking as well. He also decried the upcoming lack of third party support in a Wii-k in review about a month ago.

Which is it? What's with the change of tone?

on Topic - I was pretty much thinking the same thing last night, hung over I sat with a strong coffee and started trawling the Internet reading things like Bully Hands on (IGN certainly sell it) , CSI videos (for some reason that game really appeals to me) and watching Baroque video, after flashing back to this site and looking at the Wii sticky 08 topic and knowing this year Tiger woods is gonna be the big Tiger woods version with online play and proper updates I reckon.

You just know that with 08's Wii announcements it may not have as many AAA titles but it's schedule will be AAA for me personally and it's gonna have ridiculous amounts of AA titles, varietry, hardware and first party announcements coming this year.

I reckon Nintendo will finally catch up to demand and then they'll have time to go into their next stage and really show us their plans.

well, is it possible that he got some information within that period of time which caused him to change his mind? Maybe he got some information about a new game in development

I suppose an optimist could see his previous complaints as a sign that he's got to have a pretty reliable source for these upcomming big games. People don't change their tone this much for no reason.

I'm still pretty skeptical about anything he says, but then again saying the Wii will soon start getting big third party games isn't exactly far fetched. Let's wait and see.

I'm a little wary but like OMGWTF said he probably got some new info, like maybe KH3 going to Wii and a new RE to Wii and such

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

Or, it's possible that this is a fluff piece specifically intended to get enthusiasts excited.

Honestly, we really don't know what they know ... It is very likely that their change in outlook over the past week could have been caused by information they received about new titles from key third party publishers ...

For example, suppose that starting on Wednesday of last week IGNWii received a couple of early previews of games under a NDA and also heard a couple of rumors from people they trust. It may sound silly to some people, but 3 or 4 very interesting third party games would completely change many people's opinion on third party support for the Wii.

I'd like to think this is true, but really, I don't believe anything in the gaming industry until a confirmed announcement has been made, and only halfheartedly even then. It seems like there are always a million rumors out there of unfinished games in development that somehow never turn into reality.

If major third parties actually start confirming big new Wii projects, THAT will be news - not some vague blog post from IGN.
