Definitely multiplayer. I spent countless ours playing four player splitscreen on Metroid Prime 2, and not being able to repeat that on Metroid Prime 3 was a huge letdown. I wouldn't mind co-op if it was optional (meaning that no stupid A.I. would take its place in single player) and didn't affect the level design too much.
I also wouldn't mind if they used dual analogues rather than motion controls. Accuracy
Echoes had multiplayer. How did it turn out? Thank God it was removed from Corruption.

I tried it at a party once and the other people said "This isn't Halo" and turned off the Wii altogether. In retrospect I regret switching it from Mario Kart they were all having fun with.
I say I trust Retro and Nintendo to do whatever makes sense and makes a good game. If that includes online, MiiVerse, standard FPS competitive online, co-op online, massive single player, no single player, RTS vs. FPS vs. TPS.... it doesn't matter
As long as it has the games awesome soundtrack and Retro + Nintendo behind it... I will give it a chance to prove its play value after I get it.

I'm pretty sure it would have been far better if RS were given more time to polish it. Remember Echoes was like halfway done but Nintendo wanted it ready for Xmas 2004.
is MP4 confirmed or is this hypothetical? Either way, I would probably not want multiplayer. We already have games for that.
Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.
Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash
the only thing I'd -really- ABSOLUTELY would want to see in a Metroid Prime 4 would be Wiimote pointer controls. MP3 and the MP Trilogy used them, and after playing those, I honestly couldn't go back to analog controls, ever. They are quite probably the comfiest controls for a particular videogame ever, imo.
They could use the WiiU Gamepad as a separate screen with huds and maps and whatnot, I don't care; it has its own sensor bar built in, so as far as I'm concerned they could just have you put it next to the TV so you could actually aim at it as well with the pointer, whatever. Just let me use the Wiimote & Nunchuk to control Samus!

Couldn't agree more with everything you said. :)
An more open world kind of gameplay... Where you can choose witch planet you go and planets you don't have to go to beat the main story...Eploration and finding a secret or new update is what I enjoyed in the games and trying to find out what I can do with the update aswell. An 200-300 hour experience for next gen must be possible.
