Forums - General - Spamming?

Community criticism has led to many moderators becoming exceedingly lenient.

Soriku and Leo-J can't be helped, but we should consider cracking down on spamming.

What? Leo-J has been banned 20+ times. What is the purpose of banning? It's obviously not changing his behavior. He'll come back and be banned another 20+ times in the next few months and that's just the norm? Or maybe you're of the opinion that he's a reaaaaaaaaaally slow learner. Hey, inquiring minds want to know.

Yes, that is the norm. I'd break down in tears if Leo-J was perma-banned.

Your personal attachments may be effecting your efficiency as a moderator. Anyways, he would come back with another account, so no worries there.

that won't work because the mods, if they do their job, will ban his new account for being an alias.

Haha, that guy has -249,249.62 vg$ for that spam.

Spam is ridiculous though but unless its completely obvious its spam its sometimes hard to catch, sometimes spammers just post a really quick response to whatever the topic is without even reading it.

Oh, you haven't been here long. Or maybe you just haven't been paying attention.

^ I agree.

You can't ban a new account, even if you kow that it is a duplicate, unless the person comes right out and says it. That's the problem we're having with GGE and GBallzack.

This reminds me of the time I was 16-17, and had highest post count on the biggest Warhammer forum on the net. The complaints going around now against Soriku/Leo/brute aren't anything compared to the campaign they had for getting me banned. =P

It should be more like 30 seconds, 60 is to much.
That rule will not give you quality posts, only will give you less spam post.Everybody knows the spammers, report them as soon as you see them, mods will do their JOB.
