I'm not sure what Sony can do to turn things around at this point. If they can't sell the Vita in Japan. Then, they are screwed in the West.

ON-Topic: IMO if vita doesn't get up this holiday, it's dead, developers will start to give it up, and I don't think sony has anything capable of making the sales get better, so Vita will be totally dependable on Monster Hunter and Dragon Quest 3rd Party games.

AC for Vita? I swear that Animal Crossing was a Nintendo franchise. Do you mean AssCreed? Because thanks to that one thread, I think that Animal Crossing: Wild World's sales establish the Animal Crossing franchise as the proper holder of the AC acronym.
