I don't know about you, but 2 rivalling devices with one being outsold ~45:1 is certainly not a good sign, and is certainly something that should be highlighted. I can't recall a time in the past where such a thing has happened.

Gameboy Vs. Gamegear and Lynx. I don't have exact numbers, but I imagine it's similar.
