To transfer data from wii to wii u - you have to use an SD card. But to do it you need to update the system. Luckily the update is available on day 1.

Games can and should tell stories and share ideas through their mechanics. This is the intrinsic element of the medium and this is how experiences should be crafted in video games. No company does this as well as Nintendo and their echoes from the past.

That's interesting...

Transferring Wii channels to SD card keeps them encrypted on the card. In fact, other Wiis cannot see those channels.

How did they do this? Did they somehow break their own encryption across all systems in order to transfer it?

Got mine paid for and ready for pick up but I have to work on Sunday from 6am to 6pm. I don't know when Gamestop closes but I suspect it will be before I can get there. My schedule fluctuates and I guess I miscalculated. I could have sworn I was off on launch day.

As it stands, I have to work Saturday and Sunday from 6am to 6pm and then Monday and Tuesday from 6pm to 6am. After that, I get a week off (with voluntary overtime on Thanksgiving--double time and a half!). I'm going have to get my little sister to pick my Wii U up for me and then I'll pick it up from her house. Not sure how much I'm going to want to play, though.

That Ninja Gaiden Wii U review on IGN Killed my buzz for using the Wii U controller with the game. I dont think I am going to buy that game at all now, I'll just get the typical Nintendo stuff. They kinda recommended shelling out $50 extra for the 360 look a like controller so thats just a heads up for any fast paced games. They said the graphics was worse and had massive jaggies as well than the PS3/360, probably to save framerate. Still the best version though, so pick it up if you want.

P.S.

Enjoy the launch! I am getting mine after the first group of people.

I'm going to play it with the Wii U controller instead of the Pro just to see how it works for myself, a lot of times, it's people not used to the new control style rather than it really being sucky, but then again.... I wonder if I can still sit the Wii U controller in front of me displaying stuff while I use the Pro.... would be interesting.

Iam so mad that i did not per order it..i wontfind one till after the holidays.

I don't know if you'll be able to do that because technically it'll be like turning on two controllers for a single-player game, which I don't think Nintendo would allow.

I'm so psyched for the gamepad though. Never got to see a Wii U in person so I'm excited to hold it in my hands and experience the goodness for myself.

If i recall correctly from the past Nintendo Direct's, on the day of Wii u release you have to go into Wii Shop and download a Wii u transfer channel which downloads you're Nintendo login information into SD card and it then formatts you're Wii data.
