Forums - Microsoft - Have you used XBLive for 10 years? If so, you may get a free 360.

Thats awesome! Looking at this in truly financial terms, 10 years of Xbox live for at least 50$ a month=500$, Xbox+ Xbox 360 at least another 500$. 1000$ spent on HW and xbox live. A person could sell this Xbox+ live for at least 500$ I would say. Don't think people would actually sell it, but basically MS gave you half back.

I wonder how much money 10 years of membership is?

Games can and should tell stories and share ideas through their mechanics. This is the intrinsic element of the medium and this is how experiences should be crafted in video games. No company does this as well as Nintendo and their echoes from the past.

While at the same time it costs them hardly anything. They still make $900+ off you while making you feel special. Genius!

It would be awesome as I would qualify in less than 15 days I think :)
I got it in end of 2002 and never cancelled my subscription....

But I do not think it will happen hehe

Only for few lucky bastards maybe!

In the end its is a relatively cheap and yet successfull message to the "heavy users"

- generates positive awareness around the product

- promotes loyalty among the user base

- injects "caring" values in the brand

This policy could as well be qualified as a high standard PR

man wish i would never let my live lapse, and when i switched from xbox to 360 i didn't know how to carry my gamer tag over.

EDIT: My mistake, you have to download the 10 year graphic to you 360 to gain one entry, and then if you join their Live rewards program you get another. They are only giving out 5 units this way. (Plus other prizes.)
