It's not even so much that it moves totally off topic but rather that it becomes nothing but a Nintendo versus haters debate because someone has to jump in to berate Nintendo for something...anything.

My only question is, why are you only making this post relative to Nintendo threads? There are pro-Nintendo users on this site who troll and flame as much as anyone from the other factions. Wouldn't this thread be better served if it addressed the entirety of the forums?

Perhaps a Sony or MS fan would like to take up their own cause?

However, I do see this problem hitting the Nintendo boards far more so than the others.    Worse than that is that I've seen many Nintneod haters rarely even post in the Sony or MS boards but practically live in the Nintendo board.   I don't know if the opposite can be said as much.

Lately I've grown tired of the way threads in the Nintendo section have progressed.   A topic is started, it's quality disucssion for 3-4 posts and then someone steps in wearing a giant "Feed Me" sign around their neck while bashing Nintendo for soemthing.  Naturally, Nintendo fans take up the honor of defending Nintendo and the thread eventually no longer resembles the original intent of the topic creator.

I propose that we rise above the pettiness they bring us down to.  I propose that we ignore them for a week.  For one week we challenge ourselves starve them.  Make them go hungry.  Our words, our topics, our discussions will not be the sustenance which strengthens their negativity.

If you take up this challenge, spread it to your fellow Nintendo brethren by linking them to this thread anytime you see them engaging in a feeding frenzy.

We used to be able to enjoy discussing our affinity towards Nintendo without the verbal battles they now entail.  Perhaps we can see those days again if we work together to stop feeding them.  By ignoring them, they may go back to their own boards and leave us in peace.

If we take the example above the same can be said using a better choice of words, without being offensive or rude :

"I'm pretty sure internet forums will never reach that level, but i guess my opinion will not convince progressists like you - *unintelligible suff about whateverness / wherevereness*, i hope you make it "

See ? You take away the anger, focus on making sense, and voila ! A step forward into evolution ^_^

just look at them... they have the IQ of seaweed and yet know, or somehow learn, that they are irresistible... just look at them

i really wonder what would happen without the hand that feeds them, how would that couple of neurons imbedded in a small ball of pink and grey greasy matter react ?
