Forums - Sony - Does PSP and PSOne game look horrible on your Vita?

So i joined PS Plus as i said on the other thread, and i just remembered like years ago, i actually had 1 month of plus that came with Uncharted 2. So downloaded Pinball Hero Uncharted Table (Free with the GOTY edition of Uncharted 2); i transfer the executable file to my Vita, because i can't find the PSP game on my Vita store (LAME!!! they need to fix this STAT because they are losing on potential sales). And also re-downloaded Abe's Exodus (PS1 game) from the Vita Store (bc that month, it was offered as free game!).

Both of these games look low res it hurts my eyes! Abe's i can understand since it's PS1, but since i gave my PSP to my mom a few yrs ago (she plays Luminus only...on it) i dont really remember what PSP games looked like..........i dont remember it being this low res though -__- or is it just me

Just looked up some Youtube video...maybe the game was just not well done...looks pretty low res on youtube as well.

I'm currently playing FF8 on my Vita and I really don't think the graphics are any different then when I played the game ten years ago.

Long press the front screen and adjust the display options to your likings.

Did you remember to hold your finger down on the touch screen, and adjust the PS1/PSP -> Vita settings?

It should be exactly like the PSP except you should be able to hold down the screen and enter a menu to add bilinear filtering to make it look even better. That and the OLED screen adds to it as well. Maybe the issue you're having is the increase in screen size which would alter the pixel ratio, so maybe adjust the screen size settings to match original PSP.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

I heard that they are ment to look slightly better from the OLED screen.

thanks for the tip, i actually didn't know u can re assign button and put on filter, and there is another option i have no idea what it means. but it does look less pixelated w/ filter

anyways, i hope sony can sell more Vita, it's such a great machine. I am impress by the tech so far, Assassin's creed was not very good on it, it's decent. I haven't played it for more than 20-30 min at a time tells u how un-addicted i am to it.

I hope the will make PSN games playable on the Vita as well, it would have so much potential, if i can play my Pixel Junk games on the Vita!

You can adjust the screen settings in the game by holding the touchscreen. However, PS1 games aren't going to look the best in the world anyway, but there are things you can do to improve the visuals.

I haven't had any issues with PSP games, but I've yet to try a PS1 game.
