Forums - Microsoft - Xbox available usb storage doubled

The last dashboard update had a hidden feature.  the max size of usb flash drives is 32 gig now instead of 16. http://www.engadget.com/2012/11/09/xbox-360-usb-storage-increase/

Ya know I read that on Gaf a couple of weeks ago and then I wanted to send a link to someone and couldn't find any.thing to confirm it. So wasn't it two 16gb flash drives before? If so, would it be wrong to assume that now you can do two 32gb?

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

No. You can now do 32GB on a single drive. That's actually pretty impressive if you have a 4GB console.

I believe you can still have two of them, so you can get to max of 64 now instead of 32

I think the answer to your question is yes.  You can have two flash drive assined to your Xbox 360, so an additional total of 64gb.

Yes, totally impressive, on a launch console, or a 4g

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

MS should just allow for any size. What's the point of a limit? There is no storage limit for Windows so there shouldn't be one for Xbox.

Interesting. Gives you more room for game installs and things like that! No one can argue against that! However I do wonder why they have a limit at all... Pretty lame

Long Live SHIO!

So it's 2 to 1, yays vs. nays. Either way, it's still cool for the 4gb owners or the few rare people still rockin' a 20gb on their old fats.

The Xbox operating system is much smaller, much, smaller than Windows.  So they might be pickier about what they support or it could be a licensing thing.

Remember the RAM is only half a gig on the system, and most Windows machines today start with about 8-16 times that.

Are you guys seriously complimenting MS for this?

It's an artificial limit in the first place designed to encourage users to buy their proprietory overpriced hard drives.
