You're making some fairly bold claims there, and not a single shred of proof. While I certainly did argue for those console titles, against PC, I have never said any console game looked better than the best from it (which was the argument in here). You say I don't "admit to being wrong", yet show me nothing to prove that I said one thing then and something different now. It's on you to provide, not I.

Anyway, if you'd like to continue this conversation, the walls work. No need to destroy the thread because of some personal distaste you have.


Nope. People brought tech into the mix, and you'd argue that tech alone isn't what makes a game beautiful or not. Your argument was basically the same as saying someone may find beauty in a shiny rock still in its raw form, while some will see beauty in its crafted form, like a perfected diamond.

Now I really don't see what your point in this is, because that doesn't contradict what I've said in here. "Beautiful" and "best looking" are very different terms, and I didn't argue aginst Halo 4 being pegged as the "most beautiful game" (which it wasn't in the first place) >.<

My sole purpose for the intial quote was simple: the best from console doesn't top the best from PC, "aesthetic or otherwise". Don't know what I said in the past that has anything to do with this, as I've never argued against it; be it art, raw power, or anything else.

My point is that people come in and say that they view Halo 4 as better looking than any other games they've seen, PC included. And somehow, the "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" part of your former speech is replaced with how much more technically advanced PC games are. It's like saying a girl isn't as beautidul as an other because her boobs aren't as big. ¬_¬

Beauty is a matter of opinion. Not fact. If for you, beauty lies behind the tech side of things (resolution, frame-rate, ambiant occlusion, number of polygons on screen,  etc...), then good for you. For other people, games like Flower may be the best looking game ever because for them beauty lies in that sort of artstyle, or mood conveyed visually, or whatever.

You bring PC tech talk into something that is nothing but subjective. Yeah, the tech part of your argument isn't subjective. But beauty is.

"This isn't up for dispute". The first sentence in the thread insinuates he sees it as a little more than opinion. Don't you find it interesting that I wasn't the only one to quote his part about PC? 

If we were just talking beauty (read the edit in my last post), he wouldn't have been quoted the way he was. We could have misunderstood him, yes, that happens as human beings, but that's not how it came across. 


It came accross to me as him saying it is his opinion and as such, isn't up for dispute. That was pretty clear to me. But yeah, like you said, we're humans.

There is no contradiction. In the OP I said "This is not up for dispute, I'm just stating my opinion lol".... By  this I mean my opinion is not up for dispute, not that my opinion is fact. We're talking about something looking "good", not assessing how technically demanding it is or how realistic. Its subjective, not quantifiable, so no arguement can really be had, although maybe some pretty screens/vids may sway opinions. My intention with the post was to have people express their own opinion on what games have blown them away the most. Instead people are trying to force their personal opinions down others throats and denouncing anyone who disagree's with them, which is as pointless as arguing who's girlfriend looks better lol

Both Halo and Uncharted look good.
God of War even looks good.

Do you guys realize that they all are different artistic directions and that PC games can be up to 25x more powerful? So please shutup about comparing consoles. It looks good, that is an achievement enough.

Are you deliberately trying to lie? I recall you mentioning Destructoid and they, giving it a 10, said something like the best or possibly best on the 360 and thats that. CGI stands correct on not many claiming to be THE very best on consoles alltogether. If you want to see that, go look up some UC3 reviews. Theyre very full of them.

 

And if you think im full of shit: I'd even be up for making a collection if you stand for the Halo 4 side and Ill handle the UC3 one. Yes, I am that into critics opinion and have far too much time on my hand. I am not disputing it being top 5-10. But THE best is pushing it.

 

Wont even try to reason with Selnor. Like someone said previously: If fighting on a massive titan in Tartarus isnt scale and scenary.. Oh boy.

Digital Foundry vs Uc3 didnt mention anything has best graphics ever. 

Neither for Gears of War 3 or Forza MotorSport 4. 

God of War 3 i didnt reat but that game blew my mind, the beginning is out of this world, what a masterpiece.

One of the most, not the most... For me God of War 3 is the best looking game on Ps3 bu games like that are easy to make beautifull graphics lets just look and the gorgeous Castlevania.

Forza Horizon, Forza MotorSport 4, Gears of War 3, Halo 4 all look gorgeous, so does Uncharted 2 and 3 and my favourite God of War 3.
