Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft making Xbox Surface! 7 inch gaming tablet!

I don't see how this is different than the other Surface tablets, aside from being 7"?

Seems to me they'd simply incorporate Live into all their Win products as they already are. What would a "Xbox" branded tablet even mean unless it had some form of controller add-on for real controls. Then in reality, it should just be an "Xbox controller" add-on for Win8/RT based tablets utilizing some standard connection.

I have Microsoft employed people on my messenger...and I don't mean people that fax things and deliver coffee but people that are executives and very involved with Xbox Canada.  And they have no clue what this will be like or what it is. First they hear of it...

But I'm glad we got the inside scoop from you about what the final product here is going to be and look like.

Ms are seriously having a go at the moment aren't they.....

They are and I think this is why Acer was freaking out the other day. Some Acer executive said something like..."If Microsoft decades to make hardware, they will cook hard rice which will be hard to swallow".

While I do like the words he used to describe the situation, it appears to me that the rice microsoft is cooking is pretty good and tasty...hence why he is freaking out. :)

I'll need a bit more info, but of course I am excited for a MS product.

I am interested in seeing how it turns out. A direct competitor to Nexus 7 and Ipad mini. For my next computer i'll still need an ultrabook or desktop computer for actual productivity.

Xbox Surface ? Cant see why that would be usefull.

I think this will turn out to be a pack in with the Nextbox. Nintendo has ruined controllers for the rest of us again. I don't want motion controls like the Wiimote, Kinect, and Movie and I don't want tablet controls like the Wii U either.

Hopefully this will turn out to be a separate handheld gaming system or a completely optional thing like Smart Glass. The last thing I want is for touch screen gimmicks to be shoehorned into my favorite games.

So, making assumptions and taking a guess on what it may or may not be is out of the question then? Didn't realize my posts were so official to you.
